I'm a llama!

« on: March 19, 2004, 05:02:05 PM »

My friend who is a studio musician out of Nashville, but works quite frequently in LA heard that GNR had booked a rehearsal studio recently (within the last week) to prepare for RIR4.

My buddy has known for quite awhile about Buckethead (like early in 2003), and asked the agent who was on the list for the rehearsal hall and the guy winked and said: "Look at the Appetite for Destruction liner notes"  or something to that affect.  The agent works with many Geffen/Interscope artists, and has worked with Izzy, Dixie Chicks, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd in the past.

This is totally a rumor, and my friend had no idea if the guy was pulling his leg or not.  But, it may offer a clue to what is going on.

In my opinion it will be Brian May for a one off, or the original line-up for a trial show, and who know's from there.  We all know that Velvet Revolver is going to have hell getting any tour together due to Weiland's status, and with Axl's back against the wall, the timing may be right.  Remember, with GNR, it's a world and strength built out of anarchy(internally).

Let's see, and again--this is a rumor.  So please read in full and avoid the personal cut-downs.  Just passing on what I have heard.

I wonder if anyone can get in to this rehearsal.  Tell your friend to pull some strings and get in...get us some information on anything going on with this band.  We would all like to know SOMETHING!

Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit.

You know how I know?  Anyone that say Buckethead left a year ago is full of shit.  That's an easy way to tell.  Wink

Actually, if you believe the supposed interview done with Dizzy by the alt.gnr Newsgroup member, Dizzy himself said Bucket left a year ago.

Well, that, along with the fact that I don't think Dizzy would be saying that kind of stuff to a random person at a show are the reasons I don't believe that interview is real.  Smiley

Amen.

There is a better chance of the Beatles getting back together then the original GnR.

If this far-fetched rumor of the original band reuniting was really happening, the new guys would be let go by now and would have surely talked by now. Stinson would jump at the chance for press right now so there's no way they're all sitting on this secret.

I can't imagine May joining the band permanently but I think he has to be the favorite to fill in at RIR4. The problem is the day after Rio they have the same problem as before - a mountain worth of tracks that Buckethead contributed to and recorded. I don't think our boy is capable of simply biting his lip and releasing the songs as is. He'll need to tweak things and that typically translates into years of waiting. I'm holding onto a sliver of hope that he's going to surprise us. What a sucker I've become.

okay let me get one thing clear.....I dont know if these new rumours are  true or not God knows we see alot of them....we dont know what in the hell to believe anymore.....but one thing is clear we know that it wasnt really dizzy that said buckethead has been out a year i Think we seem to have forgotten about at the grammy awards when he was presented by bootsy collins that he was in fact in gnr and of course the outspoken bucket head gave a drunken nod

Don't forget, Paul Tobias played on 2 more tracks than buckethead ever released while in the band.

Hope? Why bother with that. We're running on luck. When/if it comes out, it's pure luck for all of us.

At the moment, I think I'm more in it for the mayhem that is the day-to-day happenings in the GnR world. I'll be happy when the album is out, but this drama is just amazing to me - that someone can cause this much speculation simply by not talking. Normally, staying out of the media's eye just makes someone fade into obscurity - in this case, it is causing extreme notoriety for one W. Axl Rose.

It's bizarre to me.

How ludicrous. The old band is not reuniting, forget it. And about Paul Huge, I personally, love the guy. From what I could tell, he played right from the book, and maybe he is able to keep some stability in Axl's GNR life, having been friends for so long.
