"You're an idiot"

WWW
« on: March 24, 2004, 05:14:32 PM »

Drummer Josh Freese recently spoke to the Las Vegas Review-Journal about working with two of the most talked-about singers in the rock world: A PERFECT CIRCLE's Maynard James Keenan and GUNS N' ROSES' Axl Rose.

Although Keenan is often painted as a dark recluse, and Rose as a megalomaniac, Freese said he has no odd revelations about either singer.

"Axl was always nice to me and always generous," Josh said. "People want to hear horror stories, but I personally don't have any. And Maynard is a serious artist who, on one hand in regular life, could be as normal as you or I.

"Maynard gets a weird rap, (because) he does very little press," Freese said. "People think he must be crazy. He's just a man of few words."

It's a relief to know that Freese does not have any hard feelings towards Axl!  ok

Maynard is a freak if I ever saw one.

I believe the word that you're looking for, as opposed to "freak", is genious.

The guy is fucking incredible. I saw him live the other month, and in my opinion he is the one of the best frontmen alive today.

Nice to see more good stuff said about Axl, but Josh has been rather consistent in regards to his views on Axl over the years? I think that he had a pleasent time when he was in GNR, and hopefully he helped lay down some of the drum basics, because he is an incredible drummer.

That's good to hear.  Any idea why he left?  Same reasons as Bucket?

That is great that he had nice worlds to say about his time with Axl and Guns N' Roses. If Brain ever does quit Guns N' Roses one day maybe Josh would come back. I just hope we don't have to face that promble anytime soon.  Wink
