It was rumoured before and Marek Lieberberg, RAR management, confirmed that he talks with Sanctuary. He also said that he would only confirm GN'R if he had word that they will 100% show.

Now a friend of mine noticed something: On one of the festival days the lineup lists Evanescence and in the evening a free headlining slot behind them. Well, Evanescence also open for GN'R at Rock In Rio Lisbon.

Could this be something?

/lastroots

Edit: This rumour now is also on the official German Guns N' Roses site www.gunsnroses.de.

If this is true I wonder who decided it was a good idea to have Evanescence to open for GNR.

Mysteron said (pre-Greatest Hits/Buckethead news) that there was something like a 90% chance of GN'R playing Rock Am Ring... Following the Greatest Hits incident he said he would ask at the end of the month (NOW  yes) whether that was still going to go down.  We should know soon I guess.

It's still going down. Evanescence and Gnr are joint headliners, assuming gnr confirm  hihi

I'll get a management report later this week or early next week

Mysteron, does that mean that slot is for sure intended to be for GN'R and GN'R just have to confirm? I mean it's getting a bit late if they wanna announce summer shows, right?

Thanks for any answers, I appreciate a lot what you do for us, Mysteron.

Yes. If they don't confirm, then Evanescence will headline

Through experience, 2 months notice is the given professional minimum for stage shows; festivals are different

all this is cool..I appreciate this also. We and you have seen these games with the management and Axl

before, so we know with whome we're dealing with. Nothing is sure in GNR world, that's for sure, but could this

year be somekind of exception when we think about the record or new tour? Could there be something for real

this time? What do you personally think about this whole situation in this time. How do you see it..

I got an e-mail last week saying GN'R were mentioned as headliners on www.hardplace.de when they confirmed Evanescence for the RAR in RIP festivals. But when I checked the site, there was no GN'R mention.

Either the guy who e-mailed me made it up, or the site published the news too soon.

With GH proving to be a veritable cash cow in Europe, Axl would seem to have no problem with selling tickets at either a festival or individual shows in  the international arena. Here's hoping this is all confirmed. A successful Euro tour and a FINAL release date for CD could do wonders for an American expedition. Don't screw it up Axl! confused

In the latest issue of Musik Express, a big german magazine, Andre Lieberberg (son of Marek, who also works for the organization of the festival) confirmed they are still in talks with GN'R. He said it was a band they very much wished to see on the bill, despite their no-show three years ago.

Mysteron, so your saying that GN'R are GOING to play there.  Or is that just the bands intentions.  Other then RIR4 is this the only gig the band is GOING to play at or are just in talks with, or will there be a big announcement concerning GN'R and this matter any time soon?
Thanks for any info, as always it's deeply appreciated.

Any news on buckethead? Lisa Reed hinted that they maybe trying to get him back. As of now, Buckethead has nothing to do in may although some june dates are unofficial at this point.

It was about a week or so ago, very cryptic. I was commenting on how much i missed the big guy and wrote how axl hadn't tried everything to get him back since he was still gone. Lisa, after a couple of posts by others, said that 'they're trying...." Nothing more. Some on the board asked for clarification and she essentially repeated her remark. I am have no knowledge if it's true or not, or if she has any knowledge of what is going on, but she did "they're trying."

really?? i think she knows more than she says... I dont think hes gone... maybe its all for the good of the band, maybe it will force the singer to realzie that he needs to do something...

RIR4 is definite. RAR is probable, but not confirmed. I don't know about any other specific concerts

Further to the recent RIR cancellation though, I think you can safely wave goodbye to RAR as well
