Like I said in my other post, I think Comrades won't be anything that we haven't heard before.  I don't know, but I'm getting that feeling that it's like we know what we're going to get with this album.  That ambitious, beautiful element will be missing.
The reason for this can be summed up in two words: no Axl.  Granted the album will probably have its share of good ballads and rockers, but that extra "umph" that we've all come so familiar with will not be there, unfortunately.  Hopefully, I will be proven wrong.

The only thing that will be missing from the album will be a wait of 8 years, it's a good thing these guys actually are and act like musicians.
Other than that I think we won't miss anything.

I'd agree that Axl definitely brought the "ambitious, beautiful" element to Gn'R, but whose to say these guys can't create something like that together?  Or what Scott can pull out of himself after going through all the shit that he has.

So far, I'd say Slither does lack that, and Set Me Free only glimpses at it, but if that other review is correct, and Slither is nearly the weakest track, then I think we're in for something great.

Axl isn't the only person that's ambitious, and everyone changes over time.  Maybe Slash has grown up a little too.   ok
