Gilby Clarke (ex-GUNS N' ROSES), C.C. Deville (POISON), Wayne Static (STATIC-X), Al Jourgensen (MINISTRY), John Lowery (ex-MARILYN MANSON, HALFORD), Tommy Thayer (KISS) and porn star Jenna Jameson were among the attendees at a party to promote KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons' first solo album in twenty-six years on Thursday, April 22 at the Key Club in West Hollywood, California. Yeah it prolly is all about the money now, they havent released new material in years...if they made a new record and toured it then i'd go see them.

Much as I love Gene Simmons as a musician and entertainer, the guy is a rock n roll whore.  He'd put the Kiss logo on his soul and sell it for profit if he could.  EVERYTHING Gene does is all about the money.

If you read Gene's book Kiss and Makeup, he called Ace and Peter the two "lesser members" of Kiss.  He said several other not-so-nice things about them too.  Also, when the four of them reunited back in 1996, Paul and Gene did not give Ace and Peter equal partnership in the band.  That's why Gene and Paul can still tour using the Kiss name and makeup without them.  Ace and Peter were also given very little creative control; they weren't allowed to pick songs for the live shows, they were allowed to contribute very little to the creative process of their reunion album Psycho Circus.  Also, Gene and Paul did not pay Ace and Peter as much as the two of them were making, which was really fucked up given the fact that all four original members of Kiss in full makeup was why the reunion tours did so well.

If you read Peter's message on his website, you'll see that he'll never be playing with Kiss again, and since Gene and Ace get along about as well as Axl and Slash get along, it's highly unlikely Ace will ever tour with them again either.

Actually, the farewell tour was the last tour in a way.  It was the last tour to feature all four originals.  Peter left midway through that tour, though he did return for the 2003 tour last year (where I saw them).  Ace left after the reunion tour was over and has not toured with them since.

My impression is that the relation between Slash and Axl is not so f***ed up as the other two.

Slash has talked about the possibility of working with Axl , of course not in the near future.

Gene is all about the business. And 95% of the time you can't be a great businessman without being an asshole too. Gene is no exception.
