Words fail me..

why cos I can't be arsed/don't have all day to sit and read a bunch of fucking stupid rules, why should I review it, I'm telling people its a good song, go listen to it if you wanna know what its like

The essence of this thread are it's rules. If you think they are stupid you shouldn't post here.

Ahhh... Mother Fu*ker!

I leave for a month or so, and when I come back I say to myself... Maybe you should go to the 'reccomend a song' thread!?  Maybe people have grown half a brain by now?  And then I realised... I was gravly misteaken!  You're worse than when I left?!

Hey Dick I tried to download your song but couldn't get the link to work. If it's cool with you I'll keep this thread going.

Listen to "Cold" from the myspace of Cohesion.

I am going to type this as the song actually plays!!!

The start is creepy and cool, I like I like... The guitar slowly coming in does it for me, hehe.
The musical side sounds awesome... OH DRUMS!? Yay... cool... I likes I likes.? ?Oh He sounds like Frans Ferdinand!?? In a totally good way.? Oh I know that you know... Oh man - this is damn good!!? Its like Frans Ferdinand with a harder edge, a little VR in there I think... I like!!? Groovy, Smooth, Rocking.? Bass Line is cool bananas.? Im just going to listen now.

Little Birdy - Losing you

Is there a link to a full version of this song? I could only find the usual 30 second preview on the amazon style sites. From what I heard it sounds o.k. The singer has a good voice but she isn't anything that stands out. Would have to hear a full version than I will edit my response.

In the meantime check out this guy:
http://www.that1guy.com/pages/Video.html   Listen to/Watch the video for "One"

I went to see Buckethead lastnight in Solonas and this was the opening act. I wont even attempt to describe it, just watch. Later in the evening he came out and played with Buckethead and fit right in to the insaneness of Bucketheads show.

Hmmm...  Little Birdy is the bomb, anyway.

Typing while listening...

Booka Ticka?!  ... odd but it sounds good...  Oh I dont like the singing - no melody at all...  its just very... meh... its confussing.  Sorry - I dont like it.  I could listen to it maybe once or twice but it would lose its appeal.  The lyrics arent that bad - but its kind of like hes trying to rap?  Nah not for me sorry.

ok - this is a band called Jumpstart Genocide, its a localish band... from up north.

This musically was alright but vocally I didn't think much of it. It's probably the most local band we've seen mentioned though so good work.

Here's "Poster Of A Girl" by Metric. Only heard of them last night. Cool song.

I just added Metric's "Live It Out" album to my iPod... this song is great and it's cool that you've heard of them.   ok

I'd like to recommend a band that is similar to Metric, but I think I'd describe their sound as being just a little more "raw".  They have a female lead and their songs "groove".  I've only just started listening to them, so I don't know what would be the best song to introduce someone with, but you should get a feel for the band from this song (the band is called Controller.Controller, Silent Seven the song):

They have two albums, this is from their first.  The new album just came out last year... they are Toronto based.

Jessica Likes.. Jessica Likes.

The intro is nice, I quite like the lingering-ness of it.  Ohh I like 45 seconds!  Thats good - where its a bit... rawer and rockerisher.  The intro, at a massive 1.01!  In a 4.16 song!  But thats great, dosent lose your interest.  I lover her voice, shes great.  It blends well I think.  I like the harshness of it.

Listened to Sucka Agenda. I liked Story of the Year - And The Hero Will Drown. Some of the lyrics were hard to make out being a live show. All in all, fairly good.

I discovered a new song today called, "Resistance" by Alexa Ray Joel. It's a beautiful piano ballad. She also has an incredible voice. Her other song, "The Revolution Song" is worth checking out as well.

See what you think:

Go and play 'My Girlfriends An Arsonist' by Fortune Drive.  They are good friends of mine who have signed with Shy Records (recording) and EMI (publishing) and you'll be hearing a lot from them this year.  They are just about to do a short tour to promote the single.

Ooops!

I really like Alexa Ray Joel.  In fact I think that 'The Revolution Song' is one of the best songs I've heard from a solo female artist for a long time.  I think that her voice could possibly suit a more subtle blues/jazz song though (not to say she doesn't do this well).

I prefer 'Resistance'.  She sings with real passion.  If this stuff is released I will buy it for sure.  I am adding her as a MySpace friend.

The Gliteratti - Heartbreaker.

From an up and coming band from England. A good bit of old school rock n roll, no gimmicks from these guys, I think you might like em. From their self titled debut.
