Due to a request here is the full information on these bands: Poison, Metallica, Guns N' Roses from billboard.

Date Entered the Top 40/Peak Postion/Weeks in the Top 40/Song

7/23/88 - #1 - 14 - Sweet Child O' Mine
11/5/88 - #7 - 12 - Welcome to the Jungle

10/5/91 - #10 - 17 - Don't Cry
2/8/92 - #33 - 4 - Live and Let Die
6/27/92 - #3 - 20 - November Rain

There you go for Gn'R,  Poor selection on letting Live and Let Die being a single... see the weak stats? Just 8 top 40 singles.

3/25/89 - #35 - 4 - One
8/31/91 - #16 - 16 - Enter Sandman
1/11/92 - #35 - 1 - The Unforgiven
4/25/92 - #34 - 3 - Nothing Else Matters
6/8/96 - #10 - 10 - Until It Sleeps
11/29/97 - #28 - 4 - The Memory Remains

Surprising Right? Yeah it surprised me.

4/11/87 - #9 - 9 - Talk Dirty To Me
10/17/87 - #13 - 9 - I Won't Forget You
5/21/88 - #6 - 11 - Nothin' But A Good Time
8/27/88 - #12 - 9 - Fallen Angel
11/12/88 - #1 - 14 - Every Rose Has It's Thorn
3/4/89 - #10 - 10 - Your Mama Don't Dance
7/14/90 - #3 - 14 - Unskinny Bop
10/20/90 - #4 - 15 - Something To Believe In
3/23/91 - #38 - 1 - Ride The Wind
6/29/91 - #35 - 2 - Life Goes On

Well there are the stats for those bands. I love this book. Those are the top 40 stats. Remember for the U.S.  I think some single selections could of been better. If you will notice when the year 1991 came, the songs went weaker for Gn'R and Poison. Thanks, I hope you guys liek these!

This doesnt surprise me. Poison was always a POP band. Having that many Top 40 songs doesnt surprise me, even though most of them arent on the radio anymore, unlike GnR, I would like a Top 40 chart but all rock. Like the history of the two rock charts.

Rock acts don't do well in the singles charts - the whole thing is geared towards pop music - and who fuckin' cares what position it reached, its the qulity of the music that matters.

Yep, another one of those hardcore people that try to be cool by saying screw the charts... quaility matters.

You're right, then you're wrong when they don't make another album because no one cared.  ok

I meant was it surprising with Metallica's hits... I would think they would of had more. I expected Poison to have that many.

Hardcore people? What kind of q*%$r are u?

The charts are for pop music - hence why sales of 'alternative music' are not counted, only sales from large retailers

The charts are no reflection of quality therefore they are irrelevant - go back to ur Britney Spears albums

All of the good titles were taken huh?

A**holle? Was that taken? Maybe you should try that. I'm not going to listen to a person who lieks Izzy anyways... someone who releases album after album and no one cares. rofl

What a weird attitude you have. In another thread you keep praising Scott Weiland because he releases albums unlike Axl. Now you're bashing Izzy because he releases albums that doesn't sell?

Maybe you use sales as a mark of quality....

That's a good point Jarmo. Sales do not reflect how good the product is.

Poison had a lot of top 40 hits. Wow that's slightly surprising.

I'm guessing you mean sales are useful to the extent that crap sales mean you get dropped from your label and you can't give the world more music and stuff like that can cause bands to split up but you yourself as a Skid Row fan should know that sales don't matter too much.  If i remember correctly you like their album Thickskin, may i remind you gone is the big record label, gone is all the advertising, gone is playing the big venue's but hell they still release music, still play at smaller and in my opinion better venue's cos it's more up close and personal.  By catering to the masses a band can lose it's integrity the music can be compromised.  I myself obtained a copy of Drowning Pool's debut album Sinner the version i got though was the 'before tampered with to make it more commercial' version and it is so much better than the album they actually released but fact is it would not of sold to well so did they do the right thing by letting the record company tamper with their sound just for extra money hell if everyone does that gone is good music and if the only people who don't do that are the ones who sell fuck all records go search them out even if the label drops them they can release shit on independant labels it will just have zero commercial success.  A word of advice think before you insult those on the board who've been here longer and are just trying to give their view yes
