I love Warrant!  I've always thought that groups like them and Poison were very underrated.  Warrant especially, because they boasted some incredibly strong songwriting.  "Uncle Tom's Cabin" is a masterpiece, "Cherry Pie" is the ultimate party song as far as I'm concerned, and "I Feel Red" is an astonishingly beautiful ballad, far superior to the more contrived and commercial "Heaven".  And they've got a lot of good songs that are just good riff-rockers, like "Thin Disguise", "Mr. Rainmaker", and stuff like that.  Yeah, I gotta admit, the first time I saw the video for "Cherry Pie", I turned it off and thanked the Lord above for grunge.  But that was a couple years ago.  I've long since grown to love the band.  They're just a good, fun rock 'n' roll band.  Too bad Jani Lane went the way of Vince Neil - fat, alcoholic, and barely able to sing his own songs.

Dog Eat Dog is one of the most underrated albums ever

there are songs on this record that doesnt sound like anything ever released before or since

the bitter pill and april 2031 are just unbelievable class songs, let it rain is an amazingly sad ballad, it has some good rockers as well

andy warhol was right is an amazing slow introspective song

Damn, I hate agreeing with D.

I have to on this though, Dog Eat Dog is a great cd, it does have some throw aways on it, but D i right every single one of those songs are great, IMO. This cd totally changed my opinion on Warrant. Too bad they didnt follow it up with the same effort/intensity

WARRANT have signed a new deal with German label MTM Music. The album's title, Born Again, features their new singer, Jaime St. James, who is famous for being the vocalist of BLACK 'N BLUE, and internationally acclaimed producer and engineer Pat Regan (KISS, DEEP PURPLE, MR. BIG, LA GUNS). Born Again delivers classic 80's hard rock with the band's trademark touch of poser and sleaze metal. The track list for Born Again is as follows: 'Devils Juice', 'Dirty Jack', 'Bourbon County Line', 'Hell, CA.', 'Angels', 'Love Strikes Like Lightning', 'Glimmer', 'Roller Coaster', 'Down In Diamonds', 'Velvet Noose', 'Roxy', 'Good Times'

I cant listen to Warrant since Jani Lane quit, I mean seriously, Jani wrote all the hits and probably 95 percent of the songs.

Warrant=Jani Lane

Plus the new Skid Row album tried to sound like the Goo Goo Dolls, the new Warrant will be an old-school cock-rock album.

If you go to Melodicrock.com you can listen to samples. Sounds really good! It says that it's due out 2/17.

According to a post at former WARRANT frontman JANI LANE's MySpace page, www.myspace.com/janilane, he has entered a retreat. The post was made by 'She" (Sheila). "Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you know that Jani is at a retreat for a couple of months, and won't be by a computer. I have been letting him know about all of your messages. Thank you! They mean alot to him..."

A retreat?

So he's still got a lot of problems that need sorting by the sounds of things, it's a shame, would be good to see him return as frontman although that's probably very unlikely now....

D is so right on man. It's crazy. I've said this so many times but our opinions on rock bands is very close to the same.

I love Warrant, and thought I would dig this thread up. They are one of the sterotyped cliched' bands of the late 80s. They are so much more than Cherry Pie and DFRSR.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warrant_%28band%29

I was just looking at this earlier and although I'm familair with their early work and all that, I never did check out Dog Eat Dog and because of D I did and I looked them up on wiki. Dog Eat Dog is a lost gem of a album and I agree with everything that D said. "Sad Theresa" is a good song too. It's a very nice blend of like half and half. 6 softer acoustic songs and about 6 midtempo-rock songs. Love it.

They are really great. I just picked up "Born Again" "Under the Unfluence" and "Ultraphobic".

Born Again is the one without Lane... haven't listened to it enough to judge, but Lane is missed on the vocals and you can't beat Lane in Warrant. Great vocalists.

Well later.
