I hope I'm not too far off topic, but I just wondered about where all of you (that attend the MSG show) will stay in New York? I mean, those who don't live there... Coz I'm attending the Hartford show, but I'll go to Hartford just for the concert and stay in New York the rest of the week, but don't have a hotel so far...

I was wondering what section some of you have for the MSG show. I'm in 340. Maybe we can meet up and have a few beers!

I'll be there! My first time seeing 'em...got my ticket stolen for the Guns/Metallica show at Giants Stadium 10 years ago.
I think I'm in section 104. MSG's acoustics suck, however. Not pleased about that. Still, it is a cool place to see a show. For any of you out of towners traveling to the show and are staying in Jersey or Long Island...many trains/subways run directly into Penn Station (which is conveniently located directly below MSG).

Does anyone get the feeling that something BIG is going
to happen at this show? I mean, this is NY!!! The first and fastest show to sell out on this tour so far!!! Maybe we'll see "Round 2", since "Round 1" was in NY as well. Maybe some premiers of some new songs!!! Who knows...just glad I'm gonna be there!

i know this is probably better as a private msg, but just incase anyone else is coming in North of nyc.....

hey Godisdead,

fyi, you'll be real far from nyc....here's an approximation:
http://maps.yahoo.com/py/maps.py?Pyt=Tmap&addr=pine+brook+road&city=Bedford+Village&state=NY&csz=Bedford+Village,+NY&slt=41.193450&sln=-73.600450&zip=&country=us&BFKey=&BFCat=&BFClient=&cs=9&name=&desc=&poititle=&poi=&ds=n&mag=6&newmag=5

just go to maps.yahoo.com to map any address in the USA.

as for MSG, here's the address:
7th Ave. and W. 32nd St.
New York, NY 10001

Looks like you'll have to take the Metro North Railroad into Penn Station...here's a link ..i'm guessing you'd be coming from Bedford Hills station...
http://mta.info/mnr/html/planning/stations/har-bhil.cfm

take the train into Penn Station....and yes, it's located in the sublevels of MSG.
.....and by the way, the trains here are perfectly safe, ...just don't dress like a tourist or wear a big camera around your neck.....cuz then you're asking for trouble. ...that means don't carry a big map and stare at it while you're walking around the city.  Your best bet is to walk into any big hotel and ask for help.

good luck getting here to nyc.

I used to live iN NYC, im im Jersey now. You might want to think about changing staying in Bedford. I wouldnt do it.  Your better off going completely broke and staying in a nice hotel in manhatten.  And im down for meeting up for drinks or grabbing something to eat, just post it also with ur age/sex/location (u  are coming from)

thanks

just a note:

mta trains don't go to penn station, they go to grand central. thats on 42nd street on the east side. msg is 34th st on the west side. its a bit of a walk, but not too far really.

also, i believe the last trains from grand central leave around 1:30am. after that you would have to wait until like 5:30 or something like that in the morning.

But NYC is the city that never sleeps for a reason, and i'm sure you could find some stuff to do to keep yourself busy.

also, the trains are really safe late at night- dont worry about that. also, they are not expensive, just a few bucks should be enough. Also, don't go to central park at night, lol.

anyway, i'm goin to msg with some of my buds- see everyone there  [ok]

yes.
we should defintly post a rendez-vous point (like in front of the MSg) at a certain time, and all the people from GNR forums (gnrx, htgth) could meet ...

that would be cool.
what about 2 hours before the show, and we can go eat or drink something.

Tongue
i know that american peolpe are nice Tongue

so the train stop at 1.30 .... then 5.30 ... lol ... go to club after that... thats what we, french, do, go to club at 2 am Tongue

 [beer] im so exited Tongue

Hey for all of you that are going to this great show at MSG, I have an amazing place you can go and eat if you want. It is called "Manganaro's Heroboy" it is on 494 Ninth Avenue (between 37-38 streets). They have the best   [drooling] chicken parmigiana, meat balls and so much more. I wish I was going to this show.      Sad  Have fun everyone that is going to this great show.   [peace]
