So for examble, if your house would burn down and you could save only this one cd/kassette/vinyl. What would it be? It doesn't really have too be about the music. It can be about memories that are connected to this particular cd and so on. So the cd choise can be really stupid as well..

What is your choise? Is it like Appetite of Destruction 'cause it's a kick ass cd or is it like London Boys 'cause it was your first kassette and you got it from your brother ages ago.. (and it has some weird memory connection towards you)? rofl?

Okay people, make some choises!!!!?

Pain of Salvation's Remedy Lane. Around the time I got the album, I was going through the same process Daniel was while writing it. The way he was able to describe my exact thoughts was quite remarkable, it's a time I won't easily forget.

Oh man..tough question, I couldn?t really tell you. Since this thread is also about memories, there?s a song that kills me when I hear it: love is on the way By Saigon Kick....reminds me so much of my first girlfriend and first girl I really felt something for, the other day I listened to it and  Cry.

Mine would have to be AFD,  It's the only album that still gives me goose bumps after sixteen years.

very hard to name one, there are six that come to mind as having profound significance in my life

GNR AFD UYI 1 and 2
Limp Bizkit Results May Vary
red hot chili peppers by the way
Prince Rainbow children

i was in the worst time of my life having lost a kid, fiancee, being accused of a heinous crime and being investigated, i had gained 70 pounds and was humongously fat

i got cleared of the charges of course cause they were bullshit, got over the other stuff, but i was 70 pounds out of shape, couldnt walk one lap around a track.

so GNR and that limp bizkit cd motivated the fuck out of me to get my life back.

id listen to my GNR and walk, listen to my limp bizkit and pump weights and it just inspired me and was my best friend throughtout that whole ordeal

red hot chili peppers by the way gave me hope that life went on
Prince Rainbowchildren made me believe that the true "one" still was out there and my life just wasnt meant to be what it was becoming.

i have now got through to the other side, my life couldnt be better, im 100 times happier now than ive ever been in my life and i gotta give thanks to those cds for helping me get through!

im also pretty much all the way back in shape now! watchin axl run around that stage motivated me to run! ive lost 60 pounds of that and am  bout to start workin on the rest!

It would be Pink Floyd's "The Wall". My dad bought it for me on my 11th birthday. He loves Pink Floyd. When I was in junior high, he tried convincing me to ditch my final exams to go to a Pink Floyd concert with him and his friends. So, I would grab that album, because it reminds me of my dad and he was the one who taught me to love and respect music.

Nothing manages to summon as huge amount of emotions as The downward spiral by nin does..but then again..if it came to the burning house scenario...I might grab AFD before it. AFD has more emotional value.....On the other hand, if I happened to listen to the nin's tds the moment house caught on fire, I might just sit there, in the middle of BURNING FUCKING FLAMES listening to heresy and march of the pigs and reptile while the flames slowly consume my FLESH! yeah!!!11

Appetite For Destruction....how original. Also Morning View by Incubus, with every song they talk to me, is like they wrote the lyrics based on what I was going through back then.

Made In Heaven by Queen. It kind of ends the journey because it was started in the last few months before Freddie Mercury died and finished in the years following his death by the rest of Queen. It if full of great songs, and has about 4 absolutely brilliant songs.

That is an amazing album. Lots of emotion when you listen to it.

He obviously wanted you to feel his presence, and I did. The song at the end that has samples of his performances in the background sent chills through me.

Knowing his fate, you understand (when listening) and feel his mortality in that album. It was indeed brilliant. Sad, but brilliant none-the-less.

Introspective, retrospective, passion, love, pain, forgiveness, regret, and acknowledgement of his final destiny....how he was able to make me feel all this through this album is something else.

AFD original cover vinyl has to be one of them.

I'll point out that some of my favorite albums may not be here. Some of the albums I'm about to mention, have not been played in my stereo for years, but for emotional reasons, I couldn't live without.

Radiohead "Pablo Honey" This may be the most horrible album of the Oxford band, but when I first heard it, I was going through major changes in my life. I haven't heard the album since 1999.

Cure "Desintegration" The best sex album there is. It's not Cure at it's best, but this album just does it for women.

Tom Waits "Franks Wild Years" Again, not amongst my favorites, but whenever I'm in the mood to drink, I'll put it on.

These are my choices, too.  ok AFD is my all-time favourite album, the best of my favourite band. I bought it from one of my buddies' friend, who bought it in Italy (I live in Hungary). He didn't like the music (he was a Depeche Mode fan), and I only had Lies (during the communism/socialism it was impossible to get a record which were made by a band of 'the declining and hostile Western civlization' and in the late 80s it was still very hard to buy the records. Albums were released years after, or they didn't even release it in Hungary.
So I tried to buy AFD, but I was unable to find it. Finally, I got it in 1989!  yes

And The Downward Spiral... The most emotional and sincere album of all time.

UYI 2 for me.? It was my moment of awakening.

Hmm...I never thought of UYI2 as a background for sex. Now that I think about, I can't think of a more romantic song than "Get in the Ring"? hihi

Good memories then? I wouldn't say lots, but quite a few indeed.? Wink

Desintegration came out in 89,? I had just started to listen to Guns N' Roses then. I didn't lose my chidlhood till years later. Been a foreign exchange student in America can be quite a ride!!!!? smoking
