Taken from MYGNRFORUM.com

Alright so as u can see from my avatar, I'm an Alanis Fan. Well someone from the Alanis board posted this...I just think it could be GUNS N' ROSES.

QUOTE
So I get an E-mail from iota.com asking if I want tickets to see a MYSTERY performer tomorrow in Brooklyn, who is one of the biggest rocks banks in the world. Anyhow, they said it is too big that they can't say who it is (publicity.) Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this, cause when I signed up for iota, the ONLY artist I listed was Alanis.... and it's a bit suspicious cause she was/is in New York recently... Anybody know anything about this or who it may be??

Thanks,
Ron

PS, here is an excerpt from the E-mail

This Monday November 22nd at a secret location in Brooklyn, MTV will be filming a surprise performance by one of the BIGGEST ROCK BANDS in the WORLD! We can't tell you who it's going to be, but we promise, you are in for one of the best performances of your life!

I think its U2... But then again, so its not a surprise!!!!

I'll bet it's U2...they were in town this past Saturday for Saturday Night Live, so it makes sense (plus...doesn't their new album come out here in the States tomorrow Nov. 23rd???)

It's definitly not gonna be GNR. It wouldn't make any sense. They've got nothing out right now. It would make sense if CD was released.

I think it is U2. They are everywhere and the only band besides GNR who can be titles as TOO BIG.

I BELIEVE it's Motley Crue or U2....

I'll check around though, to be sure which one.

It's not Crue.  Vince is in Spain for a show today.  Doubt he'd be back for the 23rd.

Besides, looks like they'll be announcing the US tour on the 6th of December (yes, folks, the entire original line up, for those that care).

So I'd have to say it's prolly U2.  Makes perfect sense.

i heard vince gave up his passport for going cuckoo on this soundguy, you sure about this?

found this too:

"Nikki Sixx says all the band got on the phone over a week ago and it felt good as they talked about how a promoter in England came to them with all this info on how there's a huge buzz on the M?y Cr?nt> worldwide and is pushing for them to tour. He says they all agreed to get together in the flesh and did a few things that we will be able to look at in a couple weeks. ?No promises, let's just see where this leads (I don't wanna get your hopes up too high). Thanks, more to come."

hmm...?

Motley Crue has "officially" reunited yet, it's supposed to happen in a few weeks and I don't consider them as one of the biggest rock bands. U2 on the other hand....

New album coming this week.

I have no "inside" knowledge, but I agree with it being U2.

With the hint of "one of the biggest rock band in the WORLD", there's not too many that could be in that class. Let's be honest, Motley Crue is not nor ever were one of the biggest bands in the world.

Like others have said, with a new cd coming out tomorrow it would seem likely it is U2. Also, with the MTV connection, it would almost have to be them because MTV could care less about most rock bands.

It IS U2, FYI.

And as for Crue not being "one of the biggest rock bands in the world"...I agree.? However, they are one of the biggest self-aggrandizing bands in the world, and, true or not, it sure wouldn't surprise me if they CALLED themselves that to try to promo their reuniting.

I'd heard they were doing "something" within the next couple of weeks, and thought this MIGHT be it.? It's not, though....definitely U2.

You are mistaken, Motley Crue were at one time the biggest rock band in the world.......

......it lasted for 15 minutes in 1989 when Dr. Feelgood came out.   hihi

Crue had its moments back in the day, but no way at this point could you consider them one of the biggest bands in the world. But you never know, reunion in 2005!
