After hearing "A perfect Circle - Imagine" and "Non-points - In the Air Tonight" I have realized how bad rock bands of today are getting and keep pushing out bad covers. If you have heard either of these songs you will agree. The whole deep bass is gone in "In the air tonight". Anyone else have any bad rock covers to share?

"Sweet Child O' Mine"

It's been discussed here before but Sheryl Crow butchered that song imo. I love her music but that cover was a huge letdown.

It was on that special "Divas in Las Vegas" or something... her and Anastacia did a duet on it and Celine was even doing Angus' one-legged kick.  It's actually pretty terrifying.

"We Will Rock You" by Five.I dont think WWRY it?s that awsome, but the good things it had, Five made them disapear.Bastards.And they add some raping, wit things like "Five will make you jump" and all that shiT.But the worst thing is that Brian May actually plays on that cover.Money aint all, but it does help!!

for once I respect someone's denunciation of that cover. I realize that when you cover a song, especially a standard like Sweet Child, it's supposed to appeal to a broader audience. It did that, though, I think. I think it attracted some fans of pop-rock and even pop. whether you dig those genres or not is completely subjective. I also think it blended well with the movie it was intended for. I wonder if she was asked to cover it or if she suggested it herself, because she's an actual huge fan of Gn'r.

 Roll Eyes Arrogance.

I've heard APC's cover, and I think they did it well. It hasn't entirely converted me, as I still dislike that song in general, but I think APC's cover of it is far better than the original.

I have two to add to this:  First is Kid Rock's destruction of Bad Company's Feel Like Making Love.  Kid Rock should be shot for that.   Cry  He took a perfectly awesome classic tune and ruined it.  It would be like someone using the US Constitution for a sketch pad.  It just shouldn't have happened, it was so wrong.

The second is Mariah Carey's horrific cover of Def Leppard's Bringing on the Heartbreak.  I'm not even a big fan of Def Leppard, and this is certainly not my favorite song from them, but Mariah Carey just destroyed it.  Ewww

I liked that one ok.  It wasn't the best cover, but it certainly wasn't the worst I've heard.

Bah - its way better than the terrible original, Thin Lizzy's version was almost enough to make me hate the electric guitar, sounds like the whole things played out of tune and demonstrates what vastly superior guitaists Hetfield and Hammett are.....

Snoop Dogg recently covered "Riders on the Storm" for the Need for Speed Underground 2 video game. Granted, I only heard one minute of it, on the Doors website, but that minute was enough.

It's not a cover, that really is Jim Morrison singing. Snoop didn't cover the song,he just fucked it up

Izzy I think we finally agree on something. Whiskey In The Jar covered by Metallica is pretty good obviously due to the guitar playing but also as with most of Garage, Inc., Hetfield's vocals have a different sound from his usual on there.
