Oh man... we got a news in march about recording two songs by Stevie, Izzy & JT... one of them was this classic tune... What can I say - this song is really cool - Izzy's sound of voice is very clear  Smiley

Here's some old news about the recording of it:

March 20th - Steven returned from LA with a CD-R featuring two songs of his collaboration with Izzy! One new original song, and a cover of the classic oldie, ?Do you Love Me??. Izzy?s friend JT flew in from Texas. He plays bass on the tracks and he also engineered the session. Izzy took the lead vocal duty and Steven contributed backing vocals. The songs were recorded at Izzy?s home on his digital 8 track. They did about five takes of each song, and Steven was surprised when JT complimented him by saying, ?Dude, you are an amazing drummer!? Steven says the recording sounds "fucking great!" and would like to send the tracks to some radio stations, most likely those in Europe. Also, the three of them plan to return in April to record five more songs! In other news, Brent Muscat recently bought a house in Vegas, and Jizzy has moved in with him. They will begin writing songs for an original Adler?s Appetite record, which should be finished by late summer and hopefully out by the end of the year. Robbie and Keri are staying with Steven this weekend. Tonight they have a gig at The Beach club, which will be sponsored by the guitar and amp company, Carvin. Singer John Corabi (The Scream/Motley Crue) will be contributing lead vocals. After the show Steven, Brent and Jizzy plan to join them on stage. If it dosen?t happen at the Beach, it will certainly transpire at the after party at their favorite local hangout, The Tailspin. Pretty cool, huh?!

March 16th - Steven recording with Izzy Stradlin - Steven flew back to LA last night where he was picked up at LAX by none other than Izzy Stradlin! Izzy invited his former bandmate to collaborate on some new music. The plan is to record two songs, possibly to be included on Izzy's next release. I hope to have more info for you asap!

man, Steven rocks so damn much!! he's got such an incredible feel in his drumming! kinda the same way Slash has with his guitar, Izzy is the king of coolness as usual on this song.
Izzy, Slash, Steven and Duff belong together! what amazing stuff they could create! drool
I can clearly hear Steven has perfected his technique since the GN'R days. damn I hope he and Izzy records a whole album together! yes peace

This two have to team up to record an album together. Great cover  ok

Izzy sounded different than on the Illusions recordings. Cool, but different.

Steven sounds great. Now that Brain is gone, Axl should consider getting Steven back, and since GNR is still missing a third guitarist, get Izzy on board again...man, that would be the coolest thing..

They did two songs that weekend, Do You love Me and an original. I didn't know if it actually happened but they where suppose to record some more original songs a few months later.

Izzy has also worked on some songs for the Adler's Appetite album, don't know if they're gonna be used though.

What they really should do is make a band with Slash, Duff, Steven, and Izzy, maybe let Sebastian Bach do some of the vocals, under the name Guns No Rose and make a fucking album called Appetite For Revenge and release it like the day after Axl releases his album just to fuck little with him, and have a good laugh  hihi

I don't know about all that, but they could have made one with just IZZY/STEVEN/SLASH and DUFF and let IZZY sing like he wanted to.? ?Now that would be some seriously cool ass shit man.

When Izzy was playing with VR they recorded an album with Izzy/Duff/Matt and Slash on it in a proffesional studio, in fact while they where recording Kelley Schaeffer was waiting for three hours in a warehouse at the end of the street cause he flew in to audition for the "Project". Slash said that Izzy might release them someday on a solo album and later on he said that he still has got the tapes and that he considered it to be the best GN'R record...

There's also a Slash/Duff/Izzy and Taz (drummer from Izzy's band) EP from late 2001 that Izzy has never released, so there's a lot more cool stuff that's lying on a shelve somewhere...

IMO Do You Love Me musically is a joke... they just recorded a song that everybody know - they did it just for fun I think.
But only one quite-good song for last 3 years from Izzy isn't enough for the fans...

A joke that they did the song, or the song itself is a joke?  Yes, the fans will love it just to hear Izzy.  Which was nice at the time, but Izzy should really leave singing to Axl and concentrate on guitar/lyrics.

Well, from outside perspective, Izzy didn't adopt his "redneck persona" until he got off drugs and lost his mind.  It's just an image that he gives himself both externally and internally.  Like how all young black males try to act "gangsta".

No, he didn't always sing like that.  Izzy had his head in his ass, that's why he did that shit.  He leaves GN'R and then goes hippy-soul-searching.  And they call Axl the crazy one? Roll Eyes

Are you trying to piss me off? Huh
Listen to Double Talkin' Jive or You ain't the First and you'll see that that's just his way of singing

I'm not trying to piss you off. But this is something we'll never see eye to eye on. I have the lowest opinion of Izzy, and I see past all the fame, money, good looks, etc. to what he really is.
I think he is very down to earth, why do you have a low opinion of Izzy? Huh

Izzy Stradln was the absolute straw that stirred the GNR drink.

The songs he sang on the UYI's are the only things I'll listen to from that double album train wreck.

so melodramatic...  cmon, tell us Izzy is another Scott Peterson.

Booker got it right in the Slash thread, and as others have pointed out in some of your ridiculous threads, you switch from snide comment to another in an oily way when you're cornered.

You were criticizing his vocals, which is fine for debate.  His voice is not outstanding, and therefore some of us will like it and others wont care for it.  But that wasnt fun enough, so you just had to get melodramatic on us.  That would be amusing were it not for your hysterical protests against buying his biography because it invades his privacy.  If you have such a low opinion of him, you shouldnt care whether he has a girlfriend or whether a book is being written about him.

Unless you're sniffing your ProActiv, Izzy doesnt flaunt his money, nor does he have that much fame.  He's not a household name, and none of his solo work is commercially successful.

Good looks, eh?  That's entirely subjective and not worth discussing.  But if you get off to him, dont stain the couch, cuz your Mommy will get mad.

What they really should do is make a band with Slash, Duff, Steven, and Izzy, maybe let Sebastian Bach do some of the vocals, under the name Guns No Rose and make a fucking album called Appetite For Revenge and release it like the day after Axl releases his album just to fuck little with him, and have a good laugh  hihi

shouldn`t it be called no guns no roses ......
