Guns N' Roses is and will forever be my favourite.

« Reply #221 on: October 03, 2010, 11:02:25 AM »

My first guitar was an Epiphone SG. After that I bought an Epiphone ES 335 and later a Gibson Les Paul Traditional. That's my absolute favourite Guitar Cheesy
I also got an America Fender Stratocaster.

Effects are Slash Signature Wah and the BOSS GT 10.
Amp is from my dad (Marshall Valvestate VS100 & Yamaha G100II).

But I'm just saving money for a Marshall JVM 410h !!! And it won't be too long until it is finally mine Smiley

I play very little rhythm in my cover band but I have a american strat with the David Gilmour pick ups in it. I've been playing through a Line 6 Spider II up til now, but I'm gonna switch out the II head with a IV head in the next few weeks. Some of the newer tones will help my sound for what I do backing guitar on.

My updated rig.

I need to come round your house Gezzy, I know you live in the UK... hihi

I actually have near enough the same setup as you. I've got an Epiphone Les Paul standard, and I also have a Marshall MG30DFX. And then I've got a Cry Baby Wah Wah Pedal, and that's about it at the moment.  Grin

I used to have a classic acoustic, but my friend gave it to me after he brought it from a boot sale. So you can imagine it was rusty as hell, and I couldn't tune the damn thing, so I ended up skipping it.

I can actually get some pretty neat sounds out of my set up at the moment, I generally play GN'R all the time, with Chinese Democracy being my main excercise.  ok

I love playing Chinese Democracy and the solos from There Was A Time. I've also being elaborating on the solos from the new Sixx AM record, learning from the videos DJ Ashba has been posting on youtube. Awesome stuff.

^^^ Cool.  There is a similar, black Hamer on ebay for about $875 on a Buy it Now offer, but no bids.  I'm sure the Fender could get a good amount too.   I wish I could afford it right now.   I have a Fender '51 Reissue, and an Acoustic-Electric Olympia bass.

The Hamer was bought for about that but it was in rough shape, cosmetically. It played great, neck was straight, no rust, body solid; the paint was old & cracking, white turned smoke-stained yellow. I had a friend who does auto body repaint it. I showed some pics somewhere else and someone described it as "Stormtrooper White".

The interior of the control cavity didn't get repainted so you can kinda see the differences.
