Guitar One Top 200 Greatest - Classic Rock
(Top Ten Listed Below)

1. Appetite for Destruction (Guns N Roses)

Once a bunch of street rats living in drug-addled squalor, Guns N' Roses would soon take their rightful place as one of the great rock bands of our time, thanks to spitfire guitar duels between Izzy and SLash, as well as W. Axl's venomous take on Hollywood living. Songs like "Nightain," "Mr.Brownstone," and "Rocket Queen" launched into diatribes on sex, drugs, and rock n' roll, helping to perpetuate the very ethos of the idiom. Would Appetite have been the same had the band not lived in such turpitude? Probably not. Would Rose had felt so disaffected by L.A. had he not moved from the more wholesome environs of Indiana? Doubtful. The fact is, Appetite is the perfect confluence of time, place, and personality-the kind of record that comes along once in a generation.

2. Are You Experienced? (Jimi Hendrix)

For his first tour of the states, in 1968, there were high expectations-especially considering the overseas buzz and the incredible impression Are You Experienced? made on American audiences. But surprisingly, many of the shows were tame. Said one review: "His performance was extremely mild compared with some of his past speaker-smashing, guitar burning escapades."

3. Led Zeppelin IV (Led Zeppelin)

It's on IV that Zeppelin begin to indulge their infatuation with English folk. THeir melding of urban and rural gives the band a mystical edge. In subdued songs like "Going to California" and "The Battle of Evermore", Zeppelin find the perfect balance for the ferocity of "Black Dog" And "Rock and Roll"

4. Van Halen (Van Halen)
5. Chuck Berry Is on Top (Chuck Berry)
6. Back in Black ( AC/DC)
7. Abraxas (Santana)
8. Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd (Lynyrd Skynyrd)
9. Who's Next (The Who)
10. Let It Bleed (The Rolling Stones)

Heres the top ten for you. Thought I'd share it with you all. I own the first 28 albums they listed! I was quite surprised.
