I wouldn't worry, this is most likely the start of a new era for Man Utd, free of the stock market they could recapture their spot as the dominant force in football

Bah, don't read propoganda, he ain't spending 780 million to just move his debts... Has he actually come out and said he plans to run the club into the ground? No. Besides, ur forgetting the regime that currently runs Man Utd are determined to milk it for money - remember when it was Manchester United Football Club?

And anyway if it all goes wrong for Man Utd u can just support Man City, they have a new manager ya know Smiley

Leaked letter from Malcolm Glazer sent to all Manchester United's Shareholders:

Dear Soccer fans,

As you all know, i've been looking to buy the United's of Manchester for a
little while now. I've also heard that some of you may not be too happy
about me using, sorry, buying the club in order to reach new heights and
also, that I may not be a fan.

Well fear not, as i'm writing this personal letter to let you know that i'm
a genuine fan of you blue devils.

I began rooting for the United's back in 1992 when our little Malcolm JR was
practising those Soccer home runs out in the yard. I loved the way you
turned defence into offence, and the way that Bobby Shearer used to top half
it into the goal bag. Oh man, that play was hot. My son tells me that you
even out-zoned your City rivals Southampton in the 4th quarter of the FA
World series.

As for your current team, that Rude guy is awesome!!!! I see a profitable
future at the United, with the young talent of Cristiano Rooney (man, that
guy can dance!) and Peter Shilton giving us hope in defeating the evil
Russian tyranny which assaults the freedom of our beloved Soccer.

With the marketing potential of those Neville brothers and that Pearce dude
leading the team, we can all look to acheiving our beliefs of a better
future. Especially when I add Alexei Lalas and Cobi Jones to the starting
15.

Now to you, the fans.

I've been to see the United's play once before, and the respect you pay your
team in silently admiring the play out on the pitch was overwhelming.
Because of this, I've just purchased a new ?45 million mansion in the
Manchester to be close to you guys. And more good news is I'm planning to
add an extra 10,000 seats through corporate boxes so more genuine blue
devils can experience the play.

What's with the prawn sandwiches I had to eat when I was there? Well, rest
assured, it'll be super size prawn baguettes when I take charge. With hot
sauce.

I can't wait to come over to the Manchester isles, as I love the country,
especially the beaches and the hot chicks.
I hope you can all see my vision of this future, with new shirt sponsors
(Dunkin Donuts) and new team name (The Manchester Gloom) i'm sure things are
looking bright.

*Further good news for you guys is that i've just agreed a partnership deal
with McDonalds, who will help in promoting the Manchester brand. This will
involve re-naming the stadium to 'McTrafford' as well as an exciting launch
of Manchester Gloom plastic fan toys in every happy meal.

Cristiano Rooney will be the face of this campaign and during this, he will
be marketed globally as Roonald McDonald.
Take care dudes.

Regards

Malcolm

Very funny, but i loved this bit most - though it describes Highbury the Library better:

I doubt a succesful buissnessman would buy the most profitable Football club in the world and run it to the ground.
?So what if he isn't a fan? So what if he doesn't know a fuckin thing about Football? He bought a company and he will expect profit, and the only way to do that with a club is making it have results.

Sadly thats not true

Check Aston Villa - that is a team run to make the chairman money, all it means is that they take money out of the club and spend nothing on players and pocket the difference

The reality is this: football is not a profit making industry for the clubs themselves. Liverpool and Arsenal for instance regularily hit 20 million in debt each year. When u pay a player 50k a week and sign people for 10 million that wipes out any profit to be made.

If Glasser is after profit it will be very bad for Man Utd, he's not likely to just throw 30 million at a player if he has debts to clear is he?

I am very suspicious of Glazer, and it seems to me he's just bad news for the club, if we have more debts that Leeds had a few years back (remember Leeds were one of the top clubs in the Premiership before they had these debts) it just spells trouble for me.

Macolm Glazer took one of the worst Franchises in NFL history and turned them into a superbowl champion

the Tampa Bay Bucs were always the doormat franchise in the NFL

so I wouldnt worry, this guy is definitely about winning.

also in the papers today it says that glazer has asked fergie to name his price to stay at united and giggs n howard have signed new contracts for 2 years each.i wonder if glazers entrance into the club has nethin to do with the contracts(do the players like giggs for instance feel theres gonna be a good future at the club).if players are prepareing to stay on for a couple of years then the talk inside old trafford must be positive..

in NFL football, most of the time the owner signs the checks, they have NFL minded people in charge of the organization

most owners cut the checks and hire and fire coaches etc.

they have some input but usually  leave it to the ones who know.

I gotta say for personal experince with my fave team in my country which is Barcelona (from ecuador by the way  ok) , The president of the club lead us in 1990 to the first international final in copa libertadores, but he took again place to be as president an accionist and really is a blew off, I mean he didnt contract good player and he weren't well advisored cause defenitely our team haven't been champion since 1998  Cry.
I think that Glazer before he can manage Man U, have to know the media and players that can put heart and soul to Man U t-shirt.  peace
