I am sure they will evolve but I don't know how.. I guarantee there will be some more Slash soloing going on and maybe a bit more of a psychadelic feel to some songs..

maybe I am in the few but I really love contraband and think they are an amazing live act.. Each show flows, not much pausing in between.. I hope they keep it very hard rock oriented... SOme stuff is really almost metal like in playing.. SOme cool ballads... As I said I would like a little longer solo on the album but other then that I really loved the album.. I think the drumming rocked and a lot of songs had very cool intros..

Will the next album sound different from Contraband or will it be another rock n roll album with no significant departure from Contraband?

Going on the fact that their set list is pretty much the same every night really takes the "danger" out of their music. Then I think about how they wanted to do a video for Sucker Train Blues but instead compromised and did Dirty Little Thing. Sorry, this band don't scare me, they ain't doin' nothin' new. I'll just say I don't think they'll evolve in a good way. I just get more and more disappointed the more I hear about this band.

When I first read that news, I thought it was weird too.  But, I think that's the double edged knife of being signed to a major label.  You get a lot of promotion, but you have to make some compromises as well.  I dont hold that against VR.  They didnt want to tour with Hoobastank (I think), but they did it anyway.  Would it have been more rnr to refuse?  I dont know. It might have made them look spoiled.

Again, its not so much that they will evolve drastically it more that they have better chemistry and know each others strenghts better now and already made their dangerous RnR statement with CB.

yeah, I hope that all the touring they did will inspire them when they return to the studio.  I am curious as to what Scott will write about.

I think that since the band meshed on the road this year, I hope Scott's lyrics are a little better, even tho now that I really listen to them I think they're better. A couple extended solos would be nice, or even a bunch of solos in one song like Breakdown or Civil War (song doesnt have to sound like those 2). Definately stick with the srtaight forward rock but maybe one classic Guns style ballad, I'd love to hear that. I'd also like to hear Dave maybe play lead on one song cause wen i saw VR,right after Set Me Free Slash and Dave were both soloing and Dave could really play. They should also have a secret track where Duff Sings. That's what I'm hoping for, just stick with the straightforward rock with a couple of changes. smoking ok

That basically sums up my thoughts. I definitely think there will be a more triipy side going on , like some of the stuff on STP's Shangrila disk, may not as poppy as a few of the lead tracks but i see them going in that direction with a heavier aspect. I would like to see that, but it is hard to say Scott is a damn good writer and he has been straight longer than he has ever been since getting hooked so it will be interesting to see what direction the second album goes in.
