Has anyone else heard of Temple of the dog?  I accidentally stumbled upon it while looking at Pearl Jam cd's on Amazon.  It's basically a band made up of members of Pearl Jam with Chris Cornell on vocals.  It came out in 1991.  Eddie Vedder even appears on one or two tracks, so that's two of the best vocalists on one album!  Stone Gossard is one of the guitarists.

When I saw it I was shocked that I'd never seen it mentioned anywhere before, it's a good album.  It sounds more like PJ than Soundgarden, I think you get the picture.  Cornell sounds fu(king amazing on the 1st track, I think it proves what a legend he is.

Classic album.

By the way, "Times Of Trouble" is the same song as Pearl Jam's "Footsteps". It has Chris' lyrics while "Footsteps" has Eddie's lyrics.

I agree, you guys should definately check out Mother Love Bone.  It's not so much grunge as it is metal...grunge-metal maybe??  Huh  lol.  and Andy Wood has a great voice.

mother love bone were awsome. Andrew wood was a great rocker who had an unfortunate addiction which took him away from us. Chloe dancer/crown of thorns is an awsome song, one of my favorite tunes ever. And the album is worth checking out.

Taime from faster pussycat wrote a song about him call mr love dog, it is also a great tune. Andrew wood had a lot of effect on some great bands and its a shame his never got the chance to do more.

I don't think it's metal at all...I guess it's in the Grunge category, since Grunge doesn't stand for one type of music, more about a movement in music, originally from one special place, Seattle. they were part of that.

but music wise, I would say MLB and Pearl Jam are both Hard Rock bands ok

agreed ckgent, Chloe Dancer/Crown Of Thorns is one of my fav songs as well! peace

I have heard one or two songs thanks to Jarmo's relentlessness in trying to make me like Pearl Jam.

I like Temple of The Dog for Cornells Lyrics and Vocals.

I Still HATE Pearl Jam.

I only heard the one song "goin hungry". I always loved soundgarden but have always thought pearl jam was insanely over rated. Is the rest of the album any good?

The PJ gig w/ the Temple reunion last October was surreal....As if that werent enough, John Frusciante and Jack Johnson (Not a fan of his, but hey, they played a Ramones track) jammed a few tracks, Jack Irons came out for dual drummers on a few tracks, Cornell did a 2 song solo set, and Reach Down was over 10 min...Mccready was hypnotic and stunning...It was the epitome of what a live experience should be...
