Epiphone LP (in cherryburst.  I love it!)

Tanglewood Odyssey (my acoustic, which I play more than anything)

Fender Strat (a reissue of a Japanese model from the 60s.  It plays great but it's started cutting out from time to time.)

My amp is a Fender Princeton, which is nice but maybe not worth the ?300 price tag.  I'd recommend a Spiders amp to anyone who has that kind of cash floating around.

I also have a classy footpedal that im playing with now.  It's called TonyWorks Korg and it's a lotta fun. ok

Guitar Specs
-nitro celullose finishing
-deep joint (long neck tenon)
-one piece mahogany neck
-one piece mahogany back
-two pieces maple top
-mkII old tokai alnico 5 pickups (P90's)
-CTS pots
-switchcraft jack e switch
-orange drop cap (brevemente para ser substituido por uma jensen oil cap)
-lighweight aluminium tailpiece
-brass saddles tune-o-matic
-bone nut
-hard case

these are hand made guitars, the quality control is extremly high, they only match the Custom Shop from Gibson when it comes to quality.

all the LS models from tokai are made in Japan, these are the good ones, the korean models are pretty much like epiphone.
i'm thinking of buying one since a guy i know here in lisbon just started to sell them. so i even get to try them out first and they'll be a lot cheaper.

thats the kind of finish they used on most gibson les paul up until the 70's right, the type of finish that cracks after some years? the kind thats illegal to use now because of it's toxic contens or whatever...?

the vintage ones look so fuckin' cool when they have the cracking in the finish, just like the aged jimmy page model... which by the way is fucking awsome to play on even tho i couldn't hear the difference from my regular standard lol...

Gibson's still have a nitro cellulose finish. The finish can crack due to rapid temperature change among other things

Right well im a poor student so i don't have money for much rig so here we go:

--==Guitar==--
Epiphone Les Paul Custom Plus (its pretty nice mid-price guitar)
Marshall 30 DFX
Zoom GFX-1
Morley Power Wah

Yahama CPX-01

--==Bass==--
Peavy Milestone III
Laney Hardcore Max Amp

Not that impressive but it does the job and i get some pretty decent tones. Need a new bass rig tho, its laging behind the rest.

My gigging rig is:

Fender USA Standard Strat (with Seymour Dincan Hotrails) >>> JD Cry Baby >>> Mesa Boogie V-twin >>> Line6 DL4 >>> Marshall Reflector >>> Hiwatt Custom 20.

The Hiwatt is the most amazingly verastile and toneful amp I've ever played.  Even though it's just a single channel amp you can get so many sounds out of it as the eq really powerful and it responds brilliantly to playing dynamics and the settings on the guitar.  Very responsive to your attack and cleans up beautiful by playing lighter or backing off on the gutars vol pot then dig in for a really full distorion at a sane volume level.  Also, it really brings out the individual character of each guitar that is played through it, which is something i find lacking in many amps.  It's only 20w but it's loud enough for any gig, I can really drive the valves hard in small clubs and get loads of tone and in bigger gigs it's always mic'd up anyway.  It's far too loud for in the house though, that's why I got a 5w Epi Valve Junior.

I use the Boogie like a treble post just to push the sound over the top if i need a screaming solo or adjust it to give a more modern rock sound.

DL4 is good for leads, cool electro sounds and Edge style rhythm sounds.  The Reflector is a decent reverb with a true bypass, v. nice for clean stuff but not so good for high gain parts.

next purchase will be a Gibson style humbucking axe as my epi Lp is fucked.

All right.? Time to compare and let everyone know what kind of guitars and amp rigs you're using.? I'll start first.

Guitars:

1) Agile Les Paul copy LS 2000 (don't let the copy fool ya, all mahogony body, set-in maple neck plays like a beast.? Better than the Epi copies.

2) Yamaha 40 yr old Classical (thats right, 40 yrs old and plays like a dream.)

3) Fender MIM 97 Strat (for the Funk baby!)

4) Ibanez RG 570 (for when Ima gonna shred!)

5) Alvarez acoustic (for when ole Thorazine is layin back and doin the slide thang)

6) Fernandes Monterey Standard LP copy (lowest action you'll ever play on a git-fiddle.)

7) Epiphone strat copy.? (first guitar that I made into a lamp.? Thats right, lamp.? Because ole Thorazine has that inginuity thang goin on!)

Amp:

Randall RH 200 watt solid state head.? (because it sounds good and because I can't afford a tube amp. Of course you know I'm cheap by now!)

Cab:

Peavey 4x12 sheffield loaded cab.? (Tight bass response with good mid-range.)

Effects:

Cry-baby wah, small-stone phaser, tremelo pedal, chorus, compression, octave pedal.

******UPDATE*****

I got a new toy!

The Fernandes Monterey Elite

Hot off the ebay express!? It's not in yet so I'll be waiting for the big brown truck to arrive.?

The Specs:

Features:
Solid Mahogany body capped with a solid 5-A Canadian Maple top
Set-neck design
Pickups: Seymour Duncan? JB bridge pickup, PLUS the Fernandes Sustainer system for infinite sustain
Rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets and large block inlays
Hardware: black-chrome hardware and Gotoh tune-o-matic bridge
Grover 18:1 ratio tuners

I'm jazzed about that sustainer system.

looks really cool.

Love the JB pickup and I'd be interested to hear what you think of the sustainer when you get it.

Thanks.

I'll probably do a little write-up about it when I get it in.

those sustainers are pretty neat. I was watching a guitar world review on the kushner modelle ravelle and if you love sustain you will love the system. ok

Guitars:
- Peavy Raptor [Sold]
- Epiphone Les Paul Standard.
Amps:
- Peavy Rage 158, 15 Watt [Sold]
- Line 6 Spider II, 15 Watt
Effects:
- Cry Baby Wah
- Danelectro Distortion pedal

Here's a shitty pic of my guitar with my amp:

Right now I'm saving up for a new amp. I like my Spider II but it's really annoying as it has an automatic effect when you turn it on clean that sounds like shit. So ya... I'm thinking a 30-60 Watt Marshall would do fine. I'm also gonna start saving up for that Slash signature wah.
