Is anyone else excited to see this movie?

I'm really anxious to see it, it was my favorite of all the books.? From the trailers, it looks like they did a good job with it.? I'm going to go on the day it opens.? Not the midnight show, but the first show on Friday the 18th.? Everyone else I know has to work, so it looks like I'll be going alone.? Oh well, no one to share popcorn with!? I'm a little worried I'll be surrounded by teenagers, but its worth it.?

What do you guys think?

At least you are funny.  Always better to be funny than obnoxious.

I'll take funny, a smoke outta my pack, do the obvious with the latter, maniacally ruminate on the former, and then hit the sack.

Good night and good luck with the pregnancy, your writing and your current domestic situation, respectively.

Sort out out. Enough of that.

I think that the trailer looked fantastic, and I seriously think that this will be the best of the films so far. Its only hindarance will be how much has had to be cut out, but...The trailer looked fantastic.

harry potter.

the more my sister tells me about it. the more i can see it's hUge (with a big U) rip off of the lord of the rings.
she told me about the last book .... there are, again, so many similarities.

gosh i hate harry potter. so the *movie* .....

I love Lord of the Rings, and in no way does Harry Potter even compare to Lord of the Rings.  But even though there are some similarities, they are very different stories.  I don't think liking one means you can't like the other, but for some reason many people seem to see a rivalry there.

i'm talking about striking similarities. not "inspiration".

but hey, if kids read. that's always good.
my sister got into reading thx to HP.
and she read the last one in english (she' 14). so that's always good.

i take back my hatred towards HP.

Outside of the use of magic and the inclusion of wizards and dragons, I see almost no similarities between the two stories.

I love the HP books (almost as much as tyhe LOTR books) and I agree that #4 was my favorite.  I  am taking my kids and wife to see it on the 18th as well.

I think alot of people see the giant spider in HP and think its a rip off of She-lob.  Also, a similarity between Dumbledore and Gandalf.  But I think that is more in the movies than in the books.

I forgot about the spiders.  In any case, I'm looking forward to the movie.  I am looking forward to book7 even more.  I have a heard time believing book 6 ended the way it did (i.e. with Snape doing what he did).  I am anxious to see where that goes.

Ppl think LOTR rivals HP cuz the movies came out @ around similar d8s and were both successful books turned 2 movies with a fantasy genre

tru thing. also, harry potter because it's had more books than LOTR (inc. The Hobbit), its evolved a lot. There's a huge difference between HP and Philospher's Stone and HP and Half Blood Prince (not in the no. of pages  hihi ) What i love about HP which authors such as Enid Blyton don't include in sequels and C.S. Lewis too is that the characters don't grow up but in HP they do. Also, they're alot darker as well and i like dark movies and books
