He was playing a character called The Blue Blazer a 'Superhero' of sorts.? He was meant to 'Fly' down to the ring via a safety harness type thing, now he either released it too early accidently or the thing was fault, end result was he went headfirst onto a turnbuckle and later died.? I believe that broke his neck.? It was at the event Over The Edge in 1999.

http://www.gerweck.net/owenharttrib.htm there's a biography of him.....

Any other wrestling stuff you wanna know dude just ask in the wrestling thread, 99% of the wrestling stuff on this board is there....although we're slowly infiltrating other threads Wink

Well the thread is "Owen Hart's death"...

True, but the guy wanted just what happened, newspaper clipping etc. isn't very respectful IMO

I remember thinking it was just an angle at first.? Then when JR announced he died, I couldn't believe it.? The worst day in wrestling history...we lost a great wrestler, and an even greater person.? Everyone loved Owen.? Its really a shame.? That Raw the next night was the best damn wrestling show I ever saw...very emotional stuff.

It was a real tragedy, i think its the entirely avoidable nature of it all that makes it so sad, if that harness had been checked properly - which is just common sense when u try and pull such a stunt - in hindsight u have to wonder what they were thinking doing anything as reckless as that in the first place.

When u consider the falls from the Hell in a cell cage it is a small wonder so few have died in and around the ring. Its only entertaining if the stunts don't really hurt people

okey.. it wasnt owen heart i saw...

someone threw someone down from the "roof" and there was tables and shit in the ring, i think he was suposed to hit those, but missed and he bounced of the floor, into the turnbuckle and landed.
a very short clip, but you can see the security rush to him in the end....

who was that?

what other wrestlers has died during/cuz of a match?

I believe the match you mean could be an indy match from 2002 featuring an insane stunt from Vic Grimes?

Yeah, it was Vic Grimes. He broke his neck.

For the record.......

NO footage of the Owen Hart fall is known to exist for the public and that which does is owned by WWE is will never, ever, ever, ever be seen.

2) Badd Blood 97 was HBK/Taker in the Cell. You're thinking of the King of the Ring 98 where Mankind fought Taker and Mankind took those two huge bumps.

Sounds like...

Yeah, those watching live at home never saw Owen fall.  They ran a pretaped interview with him, then when they cut back live it had already happened.  That's something I can honestly say I never ever want to see.  I can't imagine what it was like actually being there and witnessing it.  Especially like little kids and stuff.  Very depressing stuff.
