I'd make it 10 tracks. No more, no less. UYI II's first 4 songs are flawlessly sequenced, so I'll keep that order on version of UYI.

1) Civil War
2) 14 Years
3) Yesterdays
4) Knockin' On Heaven's Door
5) Breakdown
6) November Rain
7) Crash Diet (Didn't end up either UYI, but it damn well should've)
Cool Estranged
9) You Could Be Mine
10) Coma

I don't know whether anyones said this already(i didn't have time to read all the posts), but i know there is a album which consists of certain tracks from each album, i can't remember what it's called. If you go on amazon.com and type in guns n roses, then it will come up-it's an import though.

I think the UYI albums could actually have been successful as separate releases. There would still be 2 discs worth of material I would have just separated them a little differently. It wouldn't have been too bad to name the first one 'AFD II' or even 'Right Next Door To Hell' and just keep the second one as 'UYI'. This is how I would have separated them. Keep in mind not all tracks will make it to any one of these 2 albums. Track listing isn't in any particular order:

AFD II or Right Next Door To Hell:

1. Right Next Door To Hell
2. Dust N' Bones
3. Live And Let Die
4. Perfect Crime
5. Back Off Bitch
6. Double Talkin' Jive
7. The Garden
8. Garden Of Eden
9. Don't Damn Me
10. Dead Horse
11. Coma
12. Get In the Ring
13. You Could Be Mine

Use Your Illusion:

1. Don't Cry
2. Bad Obsession
3. November Rain
4. Bad Apples
5. Civil War
6. 14 years
7. Yesterdays
8. Knockin' On Heaven's Door
9. Shotgun Blues
10. Breakdown
11. Pretty Tied Up
12. Locomotive
13. Estranged

The album below would join AFD as one of the top albums of all-time.  And that's right...no Nov Rain, no KOHD and no Civil War.  "You dig...what I'm sayin'?...."

1. Perfect Crime
2. Pretty Tied Up
3. Don't Cry (original)
4. You Could Be Mine
5. Garden of Eden
6. Breakdown
7. Double-Talkin' Jive
8. Locomotive
9. Estranged
10. Coma

I would have made Coma a one hour song.

That would have actually been cool if they had released like an EP that was just a 1/2 hour version of that song.  I think Jethro Tull did that at one time with "Thick as a brick".. I am not exactly sure ho wlong it was but I think it was atleast 20 minutes..

1. You Could Be Mine
2. Dust N' Bones
3. Don't Cry (original)
4. Pretty Tied Up----(one of the most underrated GNR tracks)
5. Bad Obsession
6. Civil War
7. Dead Horse-------(another very underrated track)
8. Perfect Crime----(even though there are better tracks not included here, I included this one because it's so short)
9. Knockin' on Heaven's Door
10. Estranged
11. November Rain
12. Don't Damn Me
13. Coma

I'm not sure how long a CD can be, but I think it's around 78 minutes, so I made sure to make a CD that'd fit the limit. That version of UYI would be 77:44.

I'm glad that GNR didn't just release one album, though, because we would've been denied some amazing songs.

I wouldn't include KOHD because it was on the Days of Thunder soundtrack.  I also prefer to hear GNR originals as oppossed to cover songs.  This would be my UYI album that I would like if I had to cut down on the bloat:

Civil War
Dust N' Bones
November Rain
Don't Damn Me
Locomotive
Breakdown
Double Talkin' Jive
Estranged
Pretty Tied Up
Coma

I think these songs show the range of the band as well as the influence of their major songwriters.  Of course Axl is the main cog in the machine, but Izzy's songs bring a real bluesy feel that extend the reach of the band.  Of course, Slash's contributions are evident in all of these songs.  The Illusion albums are probably my favorite album of all time (I like it more than Appetite) but even I admit there is a fair amount of filler.  There are a lot of song that I really like that I didn't include in the above list.  However, there were some songs I could do with out including:  My World, Get in the Ring, Back of Bitch, Live and Let Die (was this really a necessary cover?), Bad Obsession, Bad Apples, and did they really need two Don't Crys?
