Yes, it was a cover, I remember Axl saying something like "the rock version of a rap song called taste good dont it"

I like Knockin' on Heaven's Door, as I'm a crazy Dylan fan (of course, I like GNR too, so when ya put the two together, it makes sense).  Heartbreak Hotel, although not officially released is amazing and always gets me moving!  Slash doing the Godfather Theme is incredible.  Finally, on a few bootlegs I've heard, I really enjoy when Patience goes into Over the Hills and Far Away by Led Zeppelin and Imagine by John Lennon, both are favourite songs of mine.

Well, I did some research, and it appears that It Tastes Good Don't It is not a song by any other artist. So, it is not a cover.
