ok, so the show is really about Elvis on the Ed Sullivan show shaking his junk, but this show is crazy.  The religious right and the conservatives in this country were out to DESTROY rock n' roll.  The backlash is 1,000,000x worse then the nuts at a Manson concert.  But, just like today, the more the minority denounced someting, the more the majority wanted it....you'd think those silly conservatives would have learned their lessons by now!?!?!

Anyone else watching this?

I don't think they'll ever learn. Some people are just afraid of things they don't understand, can't relate to or can't control. A lot of it comes from parents wanting to protect their children from everything.

great subject...and one i have a great amount of knowledge in

actually the Ed Sullivan show wasnt the one that started the controversy...a couple of months before on the Milton Berle Show, his performance of Hound Dog caused so much outrage over 700 thousand letters of complaint were sent saying that the performance was lewd and disgusting along with comments that seeped with racism and elitism...an interview not long after tried to insinuate that he used drugs to whip him up into a frenzy as well as insinuating that he shot his mother, and all in the course to discredit him...would you believe that a radio station banned elvis's version of white christmas!, absolutely true and shows you how bad the attitudes were back then to black and black influenced music...if it wasnt for that performance of hound dog and the attention it brought, rock and roll music would have been confined to a minority imo

just like the claims made against marilyn manson today and his connection with that massacre has been used against manson to discredit his music...and just like elvis the attitudes and stories will prevail on manson and the discrediting will go on and on
