I know zero about Stone Roses.. Any good???

Very good, more laid back that GnR, quite funky with an amzing Drummer and Bassist

I recommend I am the Ressurection, I wanna be adored and Mersey Paradise ( a B-side)

If you're generally into heavier stuff try Second Coming, more Zeppelin-esque with some slightly heavier guitars

JOHN SQUIRE = THE MOST UNDERRATED GUITARIST OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!

Just off topic, i would pay good money to hear a jam session with squire n slash!

Me 2, that would be fuckin amazin, 2 of my top 10 guitarists of all time!  drool

dude they fucking split up late 1996 ian Brown is now a semi successful solo artist rant

Semi-succesful, he fuckin owns! Saw him at the M.E.N in Dec last year and the place was rammed, one of the best gigs I've ever seen!

anyone see brown pick up his god-like geneis award at the NME awards!
Just thinking surely squire should have picked one up as well as he co-wrote all the songs?

Maybe, although I think Ian Brown has prooved in his solo career that he's a better song writer and maybe Squire didn't contribute as much as he says

No! I think they are incredibly dull. I like some bands that are similar to them but for some reason the Stone Roses just never did a thing for me. They are a band that were big in the UK but never really translated well outside of the UK.

I just can't imagine Slash playing with them. It would be different and he would add some life to them, but it wouldn't be a fit at all, in my opinion.

Stone Roses & Slash?
Reports indicate that former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash offered to join British band the Stone Roses after guitarist John Squire left the group in 1996.

However, frontman Ian Brown turned him down and apparently regrets the decision. Brown says, "I wish we'd taken him on. But at the time we were like, 'No, we hate Guns N' Roses, fuck off. Is he going to bring his python with him?' "But now I think it would have been amazing." That certainly would have made for an interesting combination. Of course, Slash found a pretty good home in Velvet Revolver.

thats one rumour i never heard anyone know of this

after Ian got his head out of ass, he must have been kicking himself in the nuts for this decision; kinda like poison after they took crack head CC hihi
