last night i saw a pretty large dv camera shooting from the approximate position of these still shots. it was sitting next to one of the light fixtures on the first balcony and there was no attempt made to cover up its position. who ever made this tape could never have snuck a camera that big in.

there is a chance that whoever made these bootlegs is in with either the venue or the crew or the band, so maybe it already has sound board quality sound on it, but who knows.

anyone see the MSG bootleg, hows that one sound?

So, any chance of this being ripped to divx or some smaller format?

Regarding soundboard recordings, is there no way to 'tap' the signals from all of the wireless amps / mics etc.?

I know it probably sounds a very 'n00b' thing to say, but is it possible?

And, do roadies / soundboard guys often give away show's recordings when the price gets right? (I only asked at a Darkness gig, and the guy said it'd cost him his job)

depending on how these look i might edit them down to one video that would include the best performance of each song, best solos, guest appeareances, and every song, so it would be like one three hour long concert. also if he provided enough coverage with zooms and any angle changes in each video i could help make it look a little more professional.

my effort will depend on the sound though.

yes you can record off the In-Ear-Monitors (IEM)

ive never tried it as I am not a soundboard fan in general.... i love the warm AUD sound.
and these IEMs are usually very 'thin' in sound

nowadays, because everything is cheaper with digital and no tape is involved, bands record almost every show because you never know what you might want to use for something later. ?all we have to do is wait for it to fall into the wrong hands (like in 02). it shouldnt take too long with something like these hammerstein shows. i think they will be highly sought after.

I am more than willing to put in for this thing, but I do have a question. My computer and its equipment is not up to snuff to be able to download the show in full. Now I have a DVD recorder, so my quesion is this: Once this is done, could I get a copy from someone, and in turn I could make some copies also for fellow board members, to help each other out. I just cant download it from the net, but I am more than willing to make copies for other members if I can get a copy myself.

Once it's out, PM me. ?I should be able to help you out and burn some DVD's for you, provided our flaky DVD burner decides to cooperate (and it usually does, with some cajoling).

You'll just need to provide me with a shipping addy...I'll even "eat" the postage provided you're in the US or Canada.

We'll talk once their out. Smiley

Thank you so much. You are a life saver. I will do that. I am also willing to help other "less fortunate" GNR fans as well.
