Here today gone to hell! ?Does that put it in perspective?  ?I just think, that there is much going on behind the scenes. ?More than anything, the technical issues better be worked out by tomorrow night, or they will be panned by the critics and fans At Rock Am Ring. ?Look, I'm not trying to stir things up, but one has to wonder what is going on? ?I know if I was a bandmember, sitting at an arena (in the dressing room) for four hours waiting for the lead singer to show up in his police escort (aren't we special Kiss) after getting his nails polished and his back massaged, it would begin to wear on my nerves. ?Think about it. Undecided

You are entitled to your own opinion. Like everybody (?)...

All I can say is that most of the old GNR fans don't think like you. (I said old GNR fans, not old Axl's fans...)

Please, back to the topic : the Budapest show. peace

I'd say any assertion that "most old GNR fans" don't think like me is unsupported by any evidence, and is just an attempt to validate YOUR opinion...uninformed and biased as it may be.? Some, maybe, but certainly not "most".? You continue to assert YOUR opinion is fact, which, of course, it's not.? Not by a long shot.

Especially considering all the "old" GnR fans (and there were quite a few of them...) I met at the Hammerstein shows thought EXACTLY as I do.? The shows were anything but boring.

But, on topic, has anyone heard anything more about what Robins "issue" was?? Has anyone confirmed it was definitely a sound issue?

I know this is off-topic, but I just want to back up the point that plenty of old school fans, like myself and some of my friends, are fully in support of the new band. You can miss Slash and whatever nostalgia you have for the old band, but that is exactly what it is; nostalgia. Just because the original members remind you of a time in your life when you were young and you loved Guns n Roses doesn't mean that it makes any sense at all to compare anything that Axl does in the present to what they did then. Sorry, but he owns the rights to the name, and there is no reason at all why such a recognizable brand name shouldn't be used.

On topic, have any boots of this show surfaced yet?

Again, I think it would depend.

If I were getting regular updates about what's going down, and I know that he's having physical issues and is being treated...and that's what's causing the delay..I'm not sure I'd be too ticked.

We was only, really, what....an hour later than his "normal" 11 PM start time?

Maybe it's rather a nice little episode. It's a rock show after all.

Good post requiem156. I know the majority of old GNR fans are not all backwardlooking.

i like tomatoes !
and you know what  i like potatoes too ! they're yummy !

I didn't know people would bring vegetables to a concert. And no egg? Is it a French thingy? hihi

Ask people who have been in bands, it get's old. ?It seems the whole "holier than thou" shit is possibly resurfacing. ?I love the band, but do want to stay grounded by reality. ? Oh well, this is all speculation, except for the fact that the technical issues better be fixed, and fast!

I would advise all who attend G'N'R shows and wait on this board like hawks looking for prey for song updates to realize that unless G'N'R are on AOL Live, which occurs once every 20 years, show up 1.5 to 2 hours later than the reported start time. I have seen this band 6 times dating from '91 to '02 and that has been the standard. I am sure the band understands that also and are not suprised when it happens every night.

I always say, "BETTER late than never." peace

So people claim Bumblefoot himself says (through email) there was no friction w/ Robin. Other people say they were at the show and saw it themselves. Anyone no for sure what's up with this?

Bumble says they were "moshing" a bit..and that while Robin was pissed, he wasn't pissed at him.

Merck says the show went great, the band was happy, and it's all getting blown out of proportion.

Yeah, in the end I guess it's not as big of a deal as it's been made out to be in the last few hours. Thanks for the recap, I forgot that Merck weighed in on the show already too.

Yes, Merck is a good guy. He could've threw a couple of bones at us in 04 and 05 though...

BTW, that Richard Fortus is a pimp and half.  Grin
