The Exorcist (The Version You've Never Seen). I thought it was pretty lame. I guess it was scary in 1973. The first half hour is boring as hell, I think, and the end is pretty lame too (talk about "I don't know how to end the movie, let's do that real quick"). The middle of the movie is more interesting though. But overall this is really a thumbs down for me. I never saw it before, now my mistake is repaired but I was disappointed.

Mr. Holland's opus - One of the greatest movies ever made. The ending was very emotional.

The Exorcist is a master piece that some people just don't understand.

The Exorcist is a master piece that some people just don't understand.

How's that? Just because some people find it's great don't mean the others don't "understand" the master piece. I just found it boring. This was well directed for the time (31 years ago!) but I still think the first and last parts are lame. If the whole movie was like the middle of it, I think I would've more enjoyed it. Just my opinion.

Oh, and I saw Kill Bill 2 last week. Found it very lame. Last good movie I saw was Serpico (excellent Pacino flick!).

the grudge, this movie was pretty freakin scary, made us jump a more than a dozen times. the ending was kinda weird but it overall was freaky and definitely worth watching.

i busted out laughing at the beginning when the guy kills himself by jumping over the bannister. my girlfriend said "u shouldnt laugh at that" i couldnt help it, it struck me funny! i thought maybe his old lady cheated on him or something and he just tipped the fuck over the bannister as a "fuck you " to her, so it made me laugh. anyhow good movie definitely worth the money, best scary movie i have seen in a long time!

Just my opinion. I kinda enjoyed KB1...but I really think KB2 was "more of the same" and actually less original than KB1. Uma Thurman was great but besides that I found it lame. I collect Tarentino's movies but this one won't be in my collection. Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction are still my faves.

I watched a film called Station Agent earlier today.

I thought it was really good and would definatly recommend it, but I fear that if I tell you what it's about then none of you will actually watch it, apart from maybe Danny, and even if you did it would probably be for the wrong reasons....

It's got Patricia Clarkson in it, who you'll recognise from...Dogville and The Green Mile...Maybe.

It really is a very good film, and, even though I said I didn't want to say anything about it for fear of the above.....

.....It has a dwarf in it. As the main character.

Edit to say...never mind

See, if you don't tell me what it's about, how can I understand what you're talking about?

Is it porn?  It's porn, isn't it. Tongue

Another anime arrived the other day called 'Perfect Blue'.  I know I always end up recommending all of the films I watch, but this one I really would recommend people checking out.  It's a very interesting psychological thriller that every so often turns slasher, with a really cool twist at the end.  It carries huuggee Hitchcock influences, but with a modern touch that takes it 'one step further', if you will.

I also just got 'Scarface', and watched that for the first time.  I had always accepted that Al Pacino was a great actor but, before I saw this, i'd never been truely stunned by one of his performances.  He is absolutely brilliant in this - really fantastic.

The Incredibles - It was a very well made CGI movie with a great story and great voice acting.

By the way, has anyone seen  'The Ghost in the Shell 2.?

I love TROY!!!!!!!!

last film i saw was Ed Wood.

Johnny Depp is amazing in his performance as always.  I love Ed Wood, i laughed my cock off when he  turns to his new girlfriend in the spookhouse and says "I have something to tell you"

"I like to wear women's clothes"

The look on Johnny Depps face is so hilarious and the way he plays Ed Wood is phenomenal.

Johnny Depp will always and forever be the world's most underrated actor, he is the greatest in my opinion. No ones even a close 2nd.

Underrated? Johnny Depp? Well, I don't know about that...

...But speaking of the guy, who is up there with my favourites, I saw Finding Neverland a few days ago.

Wow.

Seriously. Fucking...Wow.

I loved it, and it even managed to exceed my expectations. Kate Winslet (As often) was great, Johnny Depp (As always) was incredible, and Freddie Highmore has restored my faith in child actors.

I could write a lot more on this film, but I...Won't.

Just go and see it.

If you can watch this film and not award it at the very least an 8 out of 10 rating, then I have no care for your opinion on film.  Tongue

I also watched Troy very recently, and I do actually really like that film. Although (if your knowledge on ancient poetry is null then you won't understand what I'm about to say) how cheesy did you find the Aeneas reference? I laughed out loud.

Oh, and Top Hat...

...Station Agent is about a dwarf (not a midget), with a huge interest in trains, who inherits what used to be where the...Station agent would live. He meets some people.
That is pretty much the narrative throughout, although it obviously has more depth to it, but if I said anymore then...Well, I don't know, but see it, somehow.

And you posted in the "Last film you saw" thread. Shocking.

I haven't seen a film since Finding Neverland...

...And I sustain that it is one of the highlights of this year.

The Grudge was terrible for anyone that has a clue.  It was just a slew of cheap "scares" over and over and not once did i feel uncomfortable, let alone scared.  The pattern consisted of a quiet and dark scene, and then something would jump out at you!! Repeat, repeat.  Cheapest, most predictable scare tactics I've seen in a while.  The story was shit.  Wow, some girl was murdered, never seen that before.  I was bored within the first 10 minutes and couldn't wait for it to be over.  But go see it i guess if you get scared at a typical cookie cutter horror movie like this.

Finding Neverland doesnt come out here till the end of November, i cant wait to watch that.

Johnny Depp is underrated  in the way that he never wins any awards, i mean honestly, how the hell doesnt he have a shelf full of awards? it doesnt make sense.

Anyhow i cannot wait to go watch this and preorder it on DVD, my johnny depp collection is up to about 15 and im working on the rest!
