I'm trying to catch up on this years films, any suggestions?

My opinion of a film often doesn't match that of IMDB for some reason  hihi

I enjoyed Ex Machina, Z For Zachariah, Straight Outta Compton, Mad Max: Fury Road...

South Paw

Written by Kurt sutter, who created sons of anarchy.

Typical boxing come back story, with a harder edge to it.

The boxing scenes are not strong at all.

There is a harder edge to the movie however that I like

6.5/10

Could of been much better

Maze-Runner II - The Scorch Trials - The sequel was ok, not as good as the first film. There were alot of repetitive chase scenes during the first half of the film, it probably should have been shorter. I will still watch the third one though

Straight Outta Compton - Brilliant film, especially up loud. Well acted throughout, the story goes at breakneck speed, which I liked. The end was a little low key though, and I didn't fully emotionally connect with the characters.

Love and Mercy - The story of Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys. I found it really interesting and very well acted throughout. It's amazing how society sometimes takes advantage of vulnerable people

Paper Towns - A coming of age tale that promises much but ultimately disappoints. It is very watchable and I like the idea of the story, but there was no real magic.

Ant Man - A fun film to watch and not overly long. The fight scene in the daughters bedroom was quite funny. However, I wouldn't say it was one of the strongest Avenger related films.

The Theory of Everything - An enjoyable and interesting film up until the last 20 minutes or so where I thought the handling of the film was too light and fluffy and it faded to nothing. The very end though was quite fitting.

I saw Creed last night

I thought it was great...absolutely the best Rocky film since the original.

Stallone was fantastic and so was the kid. Both are actually getting a little OScar buzz.

I am so excited. Saw a great costume exhibit IN NYC about the power of costumes to the Star Wars story. Have my IMAX tix for next Monday.

The reviews out today are amazing. I am wanting to see it over the weekend, but I've been told I have to wait so we can go as a family over Xmas  crying hihi

I see you met Cas, he's really tall isn't he. Did you go to one of the Supernatural weekends?

Yes. I had a fabulous time. The actors were all so nice. Got to give the King of Hell a nice warm hug. Sammy is the tallest. Sam and Dean both appreciated that I told them both that it is impossible to determine which Winchester brother is better looking, so good looking men have to either rated as Sam or Deans.

I was fortunate enough to see Star Wars last night....

i don;t want to ruin anything . All I'll say is... Thank you JJ Abrams for making up for the last three !

It was great.

I'm not a star wars nut who dresses up or anything, but I'm a more than casual fan....this was a great addition.

Still to see Star Wars

It's interesting reading the reviews, most people think it's great, but some are criticising it for being too close to the original. Weird  hihi

There are definitely a lot of parallels to the original.

I just saw the movie and I agree about the parallels. In my opinion it is too much of a recicle. I mean it was cool to see it but the way it was done. It made it look like lack of originality. And there is stuff that just doesn?t make too much sense.

Peanuts Movie I was a big fan of the books when I was younger, and I thought the film captured their spirit really well. I think alot of people and kids will find it too light, but it's a nice film for Snoopy fans

In terms of the film being part of another trilogy though, it may not be a bad thing. If the second and third go off on a different story arc, then people may forgive this longer term

Star Wars
Grew up on the originals
Have seen the 3 newer ones a few times
This was a good movie, not a great one. Kinda liked the 3rd movie of the newer ones better to be honest
