Finally got around to seeing 'Dead or Alive' last night - and even for a Takashi Miike film, it was bloody insane!

Very stylish, well-excecuted film.  I really, really enjoyed it.  Most of the film was character building, which was really refreshing, and made it even more effective when the violent bits came round (and when they did come round, they were dis-gust-ing!).  Most of the film is very Tarrantino-esque, but the last ten minutes are pure insanity that you would never, EVER find in a Western film.

Chris, you'd like it the most, methinks.

Its awful, boring and very frustrating

What's so frustrating about it? Why does it need to be neatly classified into a specific genre? There's a ton of movies just like this one, comedy/horror-horror/comedy. I thought it was outstanding.

I second these comments  Tongue

It's an excellent film, I bought it on DVD too, but I just loaned it to a friend. On the back of buying Shaun of the Dead, I also bought both series of Spaced  ok Lots of actors in SOTD were in Spaced, and they both have the same director and co-director, I believe - Simon Pegg (Shaun) and some other guy whose name I don't know - and there are also a few moments when they deliberately reference themselves in SOTD, lol. So self-indulgent sometimes.

The grudge, eh?  I'm gonna watch the original first, so I can spend my time watching the remake bitching about how it's not as good.

Just watched Bram Stoker's Dracula...damn, Keanu Reeves really pisses me off sometimes, with his shite acting. Good film though. Also, I watched Gia earlier today, which was alright, but the only reason it's worth watching more than once is Miss Jolie  Smiley Mine.

one more note on Shaun of the Dead: being the counterstrike player that I am, throughout the whole movie the phrases "HEADSHOT!" and "OWN3D!" kept popping up..  rofl
