Exactly, anyone who says they don't like them because they sound "retro" thats complete bullshit, it's music, either it's good or its not. It doesn't matter how old or new someone is, that doesn't change the quality of their music. I'm sure if this band was form the early seventies they'd all be saying how great they are and wishing there were more bands like them today! And call me crazy! but I'd rather hear more bands that sound like Led Zeppelin than all the Emo and Metalcore shit thats out today.

Sounds likea mix of Robert Plant and Ozzy-esque vocals with Sabbath's guitar.

which song in particular?  The song I really dig at the moment is Mind's Eye.  I like the vaguely occult theme to their lyrics...I know it's been done before, but I like it anyway.

Every song reminds me of some other older songs. Also some parts are ripped 1:1 from Sabbath and Zeppelin... It's ok, but plagiarism...

I don't have time to tell which part of which songs goes 1:1 with what song and so on, but you can definitely hear the similiarities.

Actually, bands like Zeppelin and Sabbath were the most highly criticized bands of the early 1970s. They weren't celebrated at all (especially Zeppelin). Just look at all of Rolling Stone Magazine's "critiques" of Zeppelin. As the movie Almost Famous points out, RSM trashed every album Zeppelin ever made. The fans, of course, loved bands like Zeppelin and Sabbath despite the critics unfairly bashing the bands for using the blues as a template to kick ass.

But I do agree with you that I'd rather hear bands like Wolfmother than the Emo and other junk that is currently dominating the rock music scene.

I heard one of their songs and thought it was okay but the main riff sounded exactly like one from another song but I can't remember who it was by.

Anyone watch the grammys? Wolfmother won best hard rock performance which makes them the first Australian group to win a grammy in 25 years.

This is from blabbbermouth:
Launch Radio Networks reports: Australian trio WOLFMOTHER issued a statement yesterday (Tuesday, February 13th) regarding its Grammy win for "Best Hard Rock Performance". The Sydney-based band became the first Australian act to win a Grammy in 25 years, with its single "Woman" beating out entries by established acts like TOOL, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, NINE INCH NAILS and BUCKCHERRY. The group said, "A Grammy was the last thing on our minds today. We really thought that was reserved for the permanent residents of the U.S.A. We're honored and we're overwhelmed. It's enormous!"

MEN AT WORK was the last Australian band to win a Grammy Award.

WOLFMOTHER is currently on the road in Europe but will begin a new North American trek on February 22 in Vancouver, Canada.

The group expects to begin recording its second album in the fall.
