On 08/03/1991 Guns performed a legendary concert at the Forum In LA. Their longest show ever, 3 hours 36 minutes and 19 seconds. I own this on cd, but does anyone out there have a copy on Video/DVD. Or do you know who might?  This concert was voted gig of the year by RIP magazine in 1991. It was the last US gig with Izzy as an official member. This Would have been a much cooler concert to have released instead of The Japan Gigs. Anyway, that to me is the Holy Grail, I have many other concerts, even one from 01-86, but this concert I think would great to see. Thanks

It's not the longest show they did... I believe they did a show over 4 hours long in Inglewood or Indiana or something...

When i looked into this show years ago it was claimed to have started at 11pm till 3.30 - 4 hrs 30 mins!

But hell, i wasn't there - was anyone from the board in attendence? -? i'd love to get a more definitive timeframe, must have been one of the greatest shows ever - unlike what we all got on the 31/7......

Yup, 3:36:19 seconds according to Duff and Axl At the end of the concert. now maybe somewheres in the year and half after this show they went longer. but from all the bootlegs and interviews i have looked at, this was the longest show ever. but my original question is getting lost, does anyone have a video/DVD copy available?

Don't believe it, people exaggerate alot when it comes to the old shows, probably due to the amount of time that has elapsed since them.  I just saw some yesterday someone claim the Rose Bowl show was over 3 hours, uh sorry it wasn't.

There hasn't been any GN'R show longer than the L.A Forum on 08.03.1991, which lasted for about 215 minutes: 3 hours and 35 minutes.

Chicago 92 lasted 180 minutes. Worcester 91 lasted 180 minutes as well.

To my knowledge there is no video recording of the L.A Forum (any of the 4 shows) out there...

The shows from 12-5-91 to 4-9-92 were all over 2.5 hours, except Dayton where Axl cut his hand, and I think the longest then was 3 hours. The only other shows that are 3hrs or more are Hampton 6-22-91, Charlotte 6-23-91 and Greensboro 6-25-91 but those last two there are no bootlegs of them to be sure. Supposedly Greensboro is the second longest they ever played, about 3.5 hours, I personally would rather see that surface than any other show.

I was at that show!!! Me and my budy and 2 girls took a limo up from San Diego.  peace One of the best, and latest, nights of my life. When we got back the sun was coming up. The limo got lost droping off one of the chicks and she had a melt down. Me and my budy were just laughing so hard at her we were rolling around on the floor.  rofl  It was truely a marithon. People were falling alseep, or maybe pasing out more like it toward the end.

A Guns N Roses movie what never happened. With interviews from the band, back stage stuff and loads of footage from the UYI tour. That is why they recorded the entire tour, for use in the movie.

The GN'R holy grail is clearly the "Band arriving at the Vegas airport before 01.01.01 (Without Axl)(Buckethead UNMASKED!)"

Quote
GN'R Arrives In Las Vegas 2000

Date:12.30.00

Featuring: Robin Finck
                 Brian Mantia
                 Dizzy Reed
                 Buckethead (Unmasked)
                 Chris Pitman
                 Bill Greer
Whitfield Crane (Singer of Ugly Kid Joe, Friend of Bandmember)

Will Trade For: 01.01.01 DVD (only)  ok

Notes: This footage was shot at the McCarran Airport in Las Vegas on the Saturday afternoon before the show. It was intended for my private use and I have never let it out. I could have made a mint on eBay after RIR3, but it was never my intention to use my privleges (in regards to access with the band) for profit. If a trade should come about, it will no doubt be ensured that no other party shall have rights to distribute this material. As a bonus to those holding onto the 01.01.01 DVD, I am also throwing in a comped, untorn ticket from the show as well as the recently acquired 2002 VMA Rehearsal DVD.

I was at the Inglewood concert at the Forum.  (2nd row center)  I still have the ticket.   hihi

It was a long concert where Axl just kept it going, egging on the crowd that they were planning to play all night.  I remember actually being disappointed when Paradise came on since it meant GNR wouldn't be playing through the night.

I can't remember exactly how long it was, but for some reason I remember the show being just less than 4 hrs.

Since I was at the Forum concert, I consider the 010101 concert the "GNR Holy Grail"

Now we are talking. You got that right. And the fact of the matter is the video does exist. It is just well hidden.
If I could only get them to admit it.

If anyone sees this on a list anywhere let me know, I might have to take out a home equity loan but I'm going to get it. ( I know trading is the only way to go, but unfortunelty with horders money talks BS walks)

People are setting themselves up for a letdown..... Sad

GnR fans would never do that!

The GN'R holy grail is the Vegas 2001 DVD.....

There might be one copy in existance, and if there is it's with Axl. As far as anyone telling you any different, it's all bullshit.

I have searched for this DVD for a long time, and nothing, not even a screenshot. People have pointed to other people who claim to have it, and they have not provided me with anything substantial. I say prove it with a screenshot and nothing.

there is a bootleg of this show but the bass is very high no

it would be great if someone could "clean" it up ok

now that would be a great pearl to have peace

anyone wanna do that?

I can't personally do it, but dude, just upload it please... In exchange I can give you Jimi Hendrix self-made home recordings, in lossless format (flac) so I guess that would be a good deal :-)

As far as the 96' album goes didn't Axl say that was the first Snakepit album, which at first he rejected resulting in Slash using it for his own band? Slash has said before that he hasn't been involved with Guns N Roses since 1995 so that would lead me to believe that after Snakepit he never returned to record any material with GNR.

What about the material Slash, Izzy, Duff, and Matt recorded in 2002, anybody remember that? I think it was Slash who said they didn't use any of it because it all sounded too "Guns N Roses", I think that would probably be interesting to hear one day.

Another Might be the 06-06-1985 concert at the troubador. I highly doubt anyone would have this, why bring a camera or tape to an unknown bands concert but....It was the first show with the old line up.

And I Agree with the 01-01-01 and 01-31-01 vegas shows, those would be cool to see!

I would be very happy if the 8/3/91 show was released in pro-shot/soundboard quality.  It would be great if more live material from the very beginning to Izzy's last gig with the band appeared but mostly, the longest show ever should be released in professional quality.

I was at this show. It, amazingly was the show right after a really bad GNR show that my brother went to. At my Bros show, Axl was pissed at the crowd for being so fucking sorry and not into it or something. Like the crowd was sitting durig the show and being quite. This was a short as shit show and Axl couldnt get out of there fast enough.

When I saw this show, Axl talked about the previous night and said we made up for it. He said now he finally knew he was back home. Im sorry if all this has been said. By the end of the night Axls voice was shot and he didnt give a fuck, and nobody else did. He laid it all out. So real. That was like what poeple say about doing every show like it was your last.

I remember though some fuck through some toilet paper at GNR and Axl fucking lost it. He called the dude out and said something like "If you don't behave yourself we are going to fucking go and 20,000 people in here will beat the shit out of you asshole." Man...you never forget when Axl goes off. But yea this was one of my first GNR shows I had ever seen.

Yea...I was there. Think it was only my second GNR show. Axl was totally losing his voice and kept on trucking. Definitely a personal concert highlight.

It's not the longest show they did... I believe they did a show over 4 hours long in Inglewood or Indiana or something...

Haha, Yes The forum is located in Inglewood. Haha, but man, i would expect them to go alot longer, when i saw them at The Gibson i thought it was pretty close to that. I must have been tired and un aware of my suroundings.
