It's pretty likely that I'll be going to this one.  I just have no one to go with.  Market Street can get pretty sketchy  confused

I don't have anyone to go with either. I've always found the area around the Warfield to not be too horribly bad though, theres always a crowd before or after a show.

Why don't a bunch of us meet up somewhere? I'm coming from Oakland with my GF for both shows.

I love the fact they are playing small venues like the Warfield.  The only times I have seen GNR were in 2001 at the joint on the 29th, and at Hammerstein on the 12th.  Being that close to the band is amazing.

Do not post here if you got tickets until AFTER the pre-sale.

We don't need to give certain people ideas about who knows what.

I was able to get balcony seats for this show which is exactly what I wanted.  I am sure it will be crazy on the floor and I am going to the show on the 20th(Have floor seats for that one).  I have to teach the next day and drive about 2 hours into San Francisco again so I will be enjoying the view from above on the second night.

My friend and I got balcony seats (she didn't tell me where though).  She wasn't too pleased with the prices compared to the the shows we've been to before.  But regardless, yay!  I'll be coming back from England the night before so hopefully the jetlag will work in my favor.

It can hold up to 2500 people, depending on the event.

i'll be there too. i'd love to meet up with other HTGTH members before the show, as i'll be going solo. i've been to the warfield before, but i'm not too terribly familiar with the area (i know market can get a bit sketchy in places). i was toying with the idea of taking bart, but i don't know how close it gets and don't know how late it runs on thursday nights. anyone know (and/or know of a decent place to park near the warfield... last time i got reamed on parking)?

I probably wouldn't take BART. Depending on which line you are taking, the last train leaves the market street area around midnight, and we all know how GnR shows can be. Last time I was there, we parked in a place not too bad on the street behind the Warfield, about a block and a half down.

The one I'm thinking of was definately open past midnight, but I don't know how long past midnight. I might be going downtown later(just moved to SF yesterday), so if I remember I'll try to check it out.

Has anyone booked a hotel room around the Venue thru Priceline? I used that for the NYC shows and ended up getting a great deal. Just wondering what hotels they use around there and what prices anyone paid

Since BART is sorta out of the question for this event, does anyone know where parking will be available?  If so, do you know how hard it should be to find it?

Is this venue extremely strict against smoking inside?

At the Hammerstein in New York, if they saw you light up, you were gone before you could take the first drag from your smoke.. Undecided

I've definately been there when there was alot of substance being smoked, but I don't know how harsh they are if they catch you.

In general about security:
Every time I've been there its always been a pretty strict pat-down at the entrance(they have a no camera policy for all shows), but security inside always seems nice. I had the security guy in front offer to take pictures of me and my friends with my camera during a show, not a half hour after having to hide it in my bra just to get it in undected. Security near the front was always particularly good, handing out water to the crowd many times. The first show I ever saw there, someone even came around and took drink orders for people.

Well, coming all the way from Canada...I definately don't want to get caught.. rofl

But it is Gn'R, so I really wouldn't be surprised if alot of folks decided to indulge in smoking some "substance." ok

Since BART is sorta out of the question for this event, does anyone know where parking will be available?  If so, do you know how hard it should be to find it?
I was down there for a job interview today and scoped out the warfield since its been awhile since i've been there. Theres a parking lot on the street that runs behind the venue, and some more parking lots on surrounding streets. Expect to pay around 15 bucks, there was some less than that, and some more than that, but 15 seemed about average. Theres posters outside the venue promoting upcoming events such as Dragonforce, but I didn't see anything about gnr at all, was a little disappointed to say the least.

I just thought there'd be something. Its the next show there after dragonforce on the 9th, yet not one mention on the marquee or upcoming events board.

Great. Hopefully I'll find something then.  About the Warfield....  I hear there are no seats on the bottom floor.  However, I have lower lodge and it has an assigned space.  I don't imagine that I'll have to tell anyone "hey... would you move? my ticket says I stand there...."

Anyone know if that means that there are seats?

The bottom floor and the lower lodge are not the same. I believe the lower lodge is the lowest part of the balcony, but don't quote me on it. The floor is the bottom-most level of the venue, and it is all general admission. It seems that you have a seat, but a very, very close one. The general floor tickets will say FLOOR for the section/aisle.

I'm in the first row of the lower balcony for this show.  I'm getting even more excited as it approaches.   hihi

How are people getting home from this show? There doesn't happen to be anyone driving near the south end of the city that I could hitch a ride with is there? I'd give gas money and be real quiet.

If anyone needs tickets to this show, I have some available...I sold tickets to other members for the Hammerstein shows in case anyone is wondering about whether or not I'm legit...here's what I have:

1 Ticket in Upper Loge 3 Row DD

1 Ticket in Upper Loge 1 Row FF

PM me or email me at ireekofawesumnes@hotmail.com if interested....obviously these are being sold here for face value but DO NOT ask me to sell them for face value if you plan to pay with paypal, because they take a portion of the money so I can't do EXACTLY face value if you pay by Paypal, I will expect you to pay the difference so in the end I just get face value back....Jarmo I don't possibly see how that could be considered scalping but if it's a problem please PM me before removing this post

Thanks!

We were planning to go to both San Francisco shows with friends, and now none of us can go!  Heres what we're selling:
Wed. Sept. 20:  Lower Balcony 6, Row G (I paid $180)
                         Upper Balcony 3, Row R (I paid $145)

Thurs. Sept 21:  Upper Balcony 1, Row S (I paid $145)
                         Upper Balcony 4, Row P (I paid $145)

I bought all the tickets directly from TicketMaster, and they are all hard tickets.  Please make me a reasonable offer.  I'm a working mom, but I do need to sell these tickets.  You can call me at (925)788-5874 if you are interested.

If you have GA and you're wondering what time to show up to get a good spot...there was one, maybe two people in line until about 3:30 when a few more people showed up.
