GNR FOREVER!!!! AXL'S THE BEST!!!!!!!!!

« Reply #300 on: November 08, 2006, 11:21:24 AM »

Saw TOOL last saturday.

First time ever, amazing show. The started at 10 pm sharp (so weird when an artist is on time? hihi) and played for almost 2 hours. I can't recall the setlist, but they played 11-12 songs; Rosetta Stoned, Jambi (amazing), Lateralus, Schism...last song "Aenima".

Maynard wore grey paints, naked torso. His mic was attached to a mask so he didn't have to hold it. He had a mohican crest. He stood right by the drummer the whole time, on this note, the stage was something unusual. It was all white. Bassist to the right, guitarist to the left, a huge gap between the two and Maynard out back with the drummer.?

The rodies wore lab coats. All of them. I found that shocking...maybe Maynard wanted some sort of purity aura on his stage...

I had never seen Maynard live before so I didn't know what to expect, but this guy can rock an audience. He moves like a surfer. I know is hard to believe, but he positions himself like if he was standing on top of a surfboard wating to catch a wave. The crowd would go nuts everytime Maynard moved like that.

Overall a great experience. They didn't talk to the crowd much though, Maynard did say "See you next summer, promise" before hitting the first notes of Aenima.

thats awesome!! Tool were the only band? i didnt get around to seeing this year. hope they come around again.

maynard does seem to have a unusual style when hes singing to a crowd. he doesnt move around alot like Axl, but hes still pretty entertaining cuz u can tell hes really into the music and he does his crazy stomping and stuff.

Tool is one of my favorite bands. Sorry to say, but not even GN'R beats these guys live. The concert at Roskilde was totally the shit. Too bad I drank half a bottle of whisky while waiting for them to come on. The never ending passing around of joints didn't help matters either hihi But I managed to remember most of it. One of the best gigs ever.

Best gig of my life was Tool at Brixton Academy on the Lateralus tour. Mindblowing. Smoked a nice joint and saw the best thing Ive ever seen.

Gutted to miss them on this tour, but theyll be back.

New GnR couldnt touch these guys live.

Your probably right that Guns old or new couldnt touch Tool live. I hope Axl is reading this he may try and tap up Danny Carey as GNR's third drummer......

Have a good one this month, Mastodon too. Sweet....

I finally managed to get into Tool a month or so ago, and was wondering what everyone's favorite album was?

I know Aenima is the common favorite amongst the diehard fans, but Id personally rank both 10, 000 Days and Lateralus above it Undecided

I absolutely love Lateralus...the whole album is a masterpiece, although 10, 000 Days is almost just as good in my opinion.

My favorite songs at the moment are:

Right in Two
Lateralus
Ticks & Leeches
The Pot
Vicarious
The Patient
The Grudge
Swamp Song

yeah i still have to see them live. they are a fucking amazing band.

have u guys heard of Maynard's new side project? i guess with A Perfect Circle done hes decided to try something new.

www.puscifer.com

there are two songs streaming there, they are the only ones released i think, they were on some soundtracks.

it sounds awesome, he said he should put out an albums worth of material once Tool take a break.

if anyone wants the songs to have i can send them to u. theres only two, three if you count the remix of one. they are Rev 22:20 and The Undertaker, both kick ass.

Puscifer is pretty cool . they have some stuff on the underworld soundtrack. some of the puscifer stuff is supposed to be taken from the Tapeworm thing he was doing with Trent.

should be a cool album when tool takes a break and he gets it out.

^ Great song

don't forget to tell us how it was.

i liked 10,000 Days but i think Lateralus was their best effort. Danny Carey is so disgustingly good its not even fair.

i hope they come out with albums a little sooner, five years is a long time to wait and their not getting any younger.
