From a genuinely niave point of view - what is with a topic/thread asking us to refrain from talking about a recent news article?

I think we need some kind of genuine reason, this is a discussion board after all?!

What is the article, and why can we not talk about it... or even comment/reply to the thread which tells us what to do??

but thats exactly it. Why is this suddenly a discussion board where freedom of discussion is not allowed?

It really does sound like censorship for no real reason. it's a discussion board at the end of the day. If discussions aren't wanted, then do away with a discussion board.

I certainly dont believe in people shouting abuse at each other, and understand why moderators are available for this very reason, but to deny intelligent discussion about certain issues is surreal.

where did you hear that, not doubting, its just that i don't think we've been told anything

I posted a thread with the article this morning and that's what several people told me before it was deleted.
