I was reading all the responses  to the article  on the  Blog page  and there are some people that hated the concert  and are saying that Axl was using backing vocals.    They say he could hardly be heard  and that people started leaving.     I have also read some positive reviews   .  Were there more satisfied  people than disappointed ones??

Thats kind of disapointing i hope its not true...But axl doesnt use backing tracks lol

Sorry, this is late but this is the first time I have been home since the show.

This being the first time I saw the band since Hammerstein in NY, the first thing that stood out was how much more Ron fits in to the group. In NY he seemed tentative to take a lead or to outshine anyone else. This night in Sunrise, Ron made me not miss the Bucket anymore.

The sound was fantastic. You could easily pick out who was playing what parts. Looks like they finally got someone who knows how to operate the soundboard. The only mass exodus of people that I noticed was after Nightrain. It appears some people werent aware that bands play encores. New songs were noticeably met with luke warm reception at the start but all received good responses by the end.

If I was home reaing updates on the web, I might have been upset about the set list but being in the venue and experiencing the energy of the band and the audience might change your perspective. The opening night of the tour was quite the success but just scratched the surface of what would come in Tampa.

glad you had a good time.  which hammerstein show were you at?  I was at the last one.

you know what you said about the set list is so true.  once they are on stage playing, it really doesn't matter what songs they play.  it's just a true rock and roll experience, the only thing that matters is that the songs rock, no matter if they are new, or are ones we've heard a million times over.

I went to all 4 hammerstein shows.

The band feeds off the crowd and the crowd was excellent both nights so far. Even if the "new" songs didnt get an overwhelming reaction at the start, by the time they were over, they got a good response. In Tampa last night, after Better was done, you would have thought they just finished Sweet Child by the crowd reaction.

They had a metal scanner, and I got my "throw-away digital" camera in no problem, had it in my crotch area, but they found my brother's portable and took it away.

How did they find your brothers camera? With the metal scanner? Did he croth it or had it in a napsack.

Had it in his crotch too, but the metal wand went off when they waved it on him....
