Highly doubt this is the reason. GNR is guarenteed a set figure no matter if 13 tickets or 13,000 tickets are sold. The only person who would cancel a show due to poor sales is the promoter of the show(s). Surely someone can come up with better bullshit excuses then this, because the "GNR cancelled 2 hours before a show due to poor tickets sales" lie just isn't true.
