Whitney Houston has the best voice ever.
Mariah Carey has a great voice, too, but her music sucks big time lately.

Shirley Manson - Garbage

Can't believe I haven't seen her mentioned yet (though I just skimmed the thread, so I may have missed it).

Jessicka Fodera, from the tiny l.a. band "scarling." has a great voice. It was probably more rockish when she was in her former band, "Jack off Jill" (Managed by one Doug Goldstein, you might remember him from somewhere.)

And Grace Slick from Jefferson Airplane/Starship. She was great.

there's one thing to be a rock n' roll singer and a totally different thing to have a great voice. and courtney can't compare to some ladies that were named here. it's about the voice not the rock n' roll attitude. and nirvana has a lot to do with courtney because a lot of nirvana fans got into hole just because they released an album one week after kurt died no and they sounded like nirvana so that's why they were successfull.

I found a song by "Whitin Temptation" called "Nightwish"... is this a coincidence ?
Is there a band called Nightwish ? or you were talkin' about the song Nightwish ?

there's a band called Nightwish, Tarja Turunen is a soprano [ i mean she usually plays opera]

Now I see... thanx
