From wikipedia :

To date, six actors have portrayed James Bond in the official series. They are:

Sean Connery (1962?67; 1971)
George Lazenby (1969),
Roger Moore (1973?85),
Timothy Dalton (1987?89),
Pierce Brosnan (1995?2002),
Daniel Craig (2006?present).

In addition and generally considered "unofficial", Barry Nelson portrayed Bond in an Americanised television episode adaptation of Casino Royale in 1954.

My favorite is Barry Nelson.

1. Craig...closest to the books i feel.
2.? Connery...let down by some dated films.
3.? Dalton....again close to the books, terrible at one liners however.
4.? Brosnan...was good in Goldeneye, but lost it.? Let down by poor films.
5. Lazenby....Boring (his voice is dubbed!).
6....Roger Moore...ok it was funny, but a complete joke.

Btw, Barry Nelson played 'Jimmy Bond' not James Bond!

connery is best bond, hands down.

diamonds are forever - best bond ever.

roger moore's humour had a great slant on it too though, Live and let die is a classic, and View to a kill (first time i remember seeing Christopher walken acting - fantastic bond villain).

Brosnan very good, but let down by stupid scripts departing from original bond feel

LAzenby and Dalton werent too bad, but the script for Living Daylights was v good..

not bothering with the new one, not after Die another day... the age of cinema and film-making now cannot become what it was in the 60'/70's with dodgy effects, Q's gadget whizadry and plenty of smoking, drinking and women!

yeah?  am not sure - i like the idea that they have gone back to prequel, rather than try and plow forward, but to me, Bond was always the 60's/70's colours etc.  First film I ever remember seeing when I was about 4 yrs old was diamonds are forever and that has stayed with me as my template for Bond.  Daniel craig looks ok - I'm just not sure.... guess there's only one way to find out!  ok

diamonds are forever - best bond ever.

Your joking right?

Not saying your wrong to like it, but i doubt many others would agree

You have seen the effects in that film? Connery looks in his 60's.... hihi

Daniel Craig is my favourite Bond - he is the complete package, he is tough, brutal when needed, delivers the one liners in style and doesn't look uncomfortable in the womanising role whereas Dalton did

Previous favourite was Timothy Dalton, Craig just takes the tougher nature of Dalton's Bond but nails the other traits too

Moore is a 'fun' Bond but its all for laughs, and was far too old in most of his films

Lazenby is underminded by a terrible film, just so dull....

Brosnan was superb in Goldeneye, good in TND but seemed to lose interest after that and let down by two weak films

Connery is a good Bond, but his films are so dated, i'm afraid i cant seperate Connery from some pretty weak films

Overal i think all the Bonds have been great, and the series benefits from a changing actor and style, leaves something for everyone and keeps things fresh.

I dont think any Bond actor should do more than 4 films, Bond's fall into a certain styles and get more and more entrenched in that niche - the tendency for things to explode in Brosnan films reaches absurd levels by DAD and Moore's penchant for comedy leaves Moonraker a rather camp film (i love it though but most dont). Thunderball was just too '60's cold war spy film'' - so keep the Bond's changing!

Pierce Brosnan was SHIT as Bond except in Goldeneye... but even then you could see the pretentious twattishness coming through.

Daniel Craig is quite a refreshment, and actually made me realize I don't hate James Bond movies as much as I had previously imagined... THAT is how shit Piss Brosnan was.

I haven't watched the old Bond movies in ages, after being put off Bond by Brosnan, but I remember Sean Connery did a good job, and so did George Lazenby, but OHMSS was much too long of a movie... it could have done without some scenes.

I can't remember exactly how Timothy Dalton was as I haven't watched Licence to Kill or The Living Daylights in YEARS...

Roger Moore was a funny Bond... as far as his acting goes, its "which eyebrow should I raise this time? The right? The left? Or perhaps... both at once for the super-surprised look." That was it really.

What I will say for most Bond movies is this: I really like a lot of the theme tunes. Only ones I hate is the original James Bond theme, Die Another Day, and From Russia With Love (sorry I just hate that song, too croony for me!). My favorites are Live and Let Die (obviously), and Nobody Does It Better is a fucking awesome song! (Gn'R should do a cover!).

Overall... I prefer Indiana Jones. Tongue

I don't have a set favourite, I really liked Brosnan but the films let him down by the end. In fact I've liked all of them I can't pick a favourite, although if Craigs next performance is half as good as in Casino Royale he'll be well on the way to being my all time favourite.

Roger Moore was my favourite.

Timothy Dalton, is my second favourite, one has to love the classic 80s action movie feel to his films, the most underrated Bond by far.

Pierce Brosnan was a great Bond.

George Lazenby, OHMSS is the most underrated Bond film.

Sean Connery, like the films, but it just isn't my generation.

1. Connery- probably the coolest
2.  Brosnan...probably the best actor of the Bonds IMO.
3.  Craig....I'd have to see a couple more films, but he's definately better then most
4.  Lazenby...people seem to dislike him because his movie actually has a plot
5. Timothy Dalton....dated
6....Roger Moore...Had it for too long and was not a great actor

I like most of the movies though.
