add a little bit of chorus to thicken your tone a la Duff. Who doesnt like bass tone?

Just be willing to play anything.  Doesn't hurt if you can play things other than what they already know.  Show them how versitile you are.

Me either, how the fuck do people do that shit? hihi

When is the audition?

Keep us updated.

Attitude is important also.

When I audition people one of these days, id take someone above average with a great attitude over a virtuoso dickhead.

So be cool, just play the best u can and let the chips fall where they may.

If they dont like you, start your own band! ok

i tried starting my own, its hard to find people who wanna play real rock music, not emo stuff haha.

im unsure whether i want to audition for them now, im not very keen on the oppinions of the guy starting it, i could see arguments happening if i got in very soon.

A man who says chris cornell is an amazing frontman (not singing, frontman), when hes looking for a band to play motley crue type music makes me very unsure.

No doubt.

Still not bad just to get experience, Have u ever been in a band before?

If not this band could lead u to other bands even if u have to deal with some people u may not necessarily care for.

I was in bands where the guys thought that playing three power chords for the entire song was considered great songwriting. Seriously, they would write a simplistic 3 chord riff and play it the ENTIRE SONG with no changes ever, even the chorus and verses were sang over the same riff.

Then i was in a band with a guy who thought cause he played drums that made him an expert musician when on guitar all he could play were 2 finger power chords.

SO I went through some shit bands before finding certain people I can play with.

Sounds like some of the drummers i've played with! hihi

About this band - I say go for it.? You may not have identical tastes but the only thing that really matters is that you all like the music you're making.? If you're not enjoying it after a while then you're free to go but you may as well give it a chance.? Also, do not fall into the trap of squabbling with your band mates, especially not over small details like influences and stuff.? You may think you're being really rock n' roll and following in Guns' footsteps but the reality is noone likes an inflated ego and 'band politics' are really uncool.? Just give it a shot and enjoy yourself. ok

Not a bad idea. Playing live is the true test.  I play with some guys that like to add an extra chorus or two and I always have to be on my feet.

yeah, I play guitar, and one of thing you have to do is use all 4 fingers, it takes some practice, but you'll become a much better player because of it.

I have the same problem.  I play drums, learned from listening to Crue/gnr records but I have some bad habits and my kit is not very good. I have to make the most out of what I got. My kick drum and high-hat skills can use some work but I'm very good at time keeping and syncopation and insert obscure beats and monster clash and snare sound. I'd give anything to find a group of guys who are willing to play some crue and gnr eventually writing songs. I'm in North Jersey...its not easy. Most bands are top 40 radio bands
