The Compulsions, the singer for that band (Rob Carlyle) is good friends with both Frank and Richard so it makes a lot of sense. And they are suppose to be touring next year too so Axl should give them a call.

Hanoi Rocks
Alice in Chains
Roadstar
Black Label Society
Towers of London
Comes With the Fall
Lost Prophets
Incubus

I'd rather not have bands like BFMV or Avenged 7x but they might be possibilities.  Trivium are always wearing GnR t-shirts as well, so who knows.

Blind Melon , while a possibility, is doubtful because Axl was good friends with Shannon and i don't know if he'd want them with another guy opening up.

Saliva would be cool, they got an album coming out in January, and they're a good ROCK band....which is whats needed to open for Gn'R.

IF GNR's management were smart....which they aren't.....they would tour with Avenged Sevenfold....I know they played some shows together overseas....forget about the suicide girl bullshit, the papa roach bullshit, the helmet bullshit,, if A7X and GNR toured together they would SELL OUT every arena they played...that is a guarantee.....from LA to Boise Idaho...to NYC....Plus A7X has  a new record coming out around the same time as GNR's next year...it would be perfect.....

Godsmack
Marilyn Manson
Buckcherry
Sevendust
Avenged Sevenfold
White Stripes
Weezer
Smashing Pumpkins
Social Distortion (My Pick)

I think they should get a big name band like the ones above.  These bands are all farily "big" but not big enough to headline an arena show.

I think your definition of "big" might be a little off. Godsmack (as much as I dislike them), Marilyn Manson, and the supposedly newly reformed Smashing Pumpkins are all current arena acts who would never open for GN'R. Godsmack is way too big, Manson has become far too avant-garde to fit with GN'R, and the Pumpkins stand a chance of outselling GN'R on their own (sad as that may be). Weezer's broken up, and suck. Enough with "A7X." As for the rest, I just don't think they'd fit in. That is except for Buckcherry, who are pretty much universally being called upon by the fans to get in the ring with GN'R and tour. Buckcherry is a kick ass band and I've been saying for a long time how this should just happen. And bring Baz back, too. He puts on one hell of a show.

That said, how about a co-headlining tour with NIN? They're both dropping Spring albums and should both be hitting the road about the same time. GN'R would close the show, but both would play a headlining set. Makes the most sense of any of the bands mentioned to actually share a headlining bill with.

hmm, that said...I always hated the darkness before....only because of justin as his faggy ass vocals, so yeah, if they got a decent singer, that might work, lol...i still vote for saliva or dope

Dude Baz's opening was the highlight of the LA December 20th show for me.

They should just give that fucker a longer time to play. Make him the only opener. Thats all I want.

To the people who keep saying Muse - it just aint going to happen!!

Whether you like their music or not they are huge right now and getting huger. They were bigger in mainland Europe but are now massive in the UK too and I imagine will start to make inroads into the US soon.

Not a massive fan myself but yes their live show is generally acknowledged to be the best show around. Unless Matt Bellamy turns out to be a huge Axl mark and does it as a favour it will never happen. Why would they? They've slogged their guts out and got to the top- they are done opening for anyone.

Silvertide, Buckcherry yeah all good. What about Roadstar?

Or if we are saying Muse how about U2 followed by a reformed Pink Floyd (with Waters) opening? rofl

-Greg

Also muse have managed to sell out Wembley STADIUM in 45 minutes, and have added a second show which has also nearly sold out.
