My friend brought up a good point last night (he was at the Albany 02 show)...I agree that EODM sucks, but if Axl hated them so bad, what's the deal with having MMM open for a rock concert?

The only thing I can think of is that it has something to do with the 'forced' nature of the 02 tour and Axl really did not give a shit.

I guess Axl wanted MMM on tour?

I think they expected the Eagles to get a better reaction. my opinion is that they liked them as a band /musically....

I agree...I remember reading that Axl like Mike and what he did.  Given how hip-hop and rap has incfluenced Axl in the past, I could see the connection.  However, the band has put together an amazing pre-show mix or rock/rap to play for the crowd while GnR sets up and in between openers - the best of both worlds?

I'm pretty sure that Axl didn't see them perform. I don't think he arrived until well after that.

I don't know what the problem was with MixMasterMike... one of the better opening acts I've seen over the years.
