This seems to have been a setlist staple back in the club days (1986), but there also was a studio recording of it - not sure when it was recorded, but the drums sound awfully similar to the AFD sessions.

The copy I have was taped off of radio.  The local pop/rock station in New York City at the time (Z100) got hold of this as a bootleg and their resident cornball DJ (Jack da Wack) played it on his 'Top 5 at 9' segment.   Minutes later, he patches in a 'record executive' who demands that he never play the song again.  Being the rebellious 'wild an craazay guy' he is, Jack da Wack plays the song again and again, five times in a row in total.  Inbetween he brags and banters with fans and talks of getting calls from federal authorities who claim he'll spend ten years in federal prison for every time he plays the song.  At the end of his shift he is supposedly led out of the building in handcuffs.

It seemed like an obvious publicity stunt, but the song was real, and it was a very, very good rendition.  I listened to the whole thing, but wasn't in a place where I could record it.  Luckily a friend taped it and gave me her copy, which became one of my most prized posessions for a few years.  I found it in a box the other day.  I could convert it to FLAC and post it somewhere if you guys think it's interesting enough...

Yeah, i think i've got Studio versions of it played both acoustically (in quite a similar style to the original) and electric (gnr'ed, so to speak).  It is a great track though.

I'd love to hear the electric version in great quality... I've only ever heard a poor-sounding version.
