It is announced today that JAPAN TOUR IS POSTPONED!!!!!!!!!!

Here is official statement from GN'R management.
(Source http://www.creativeman.co.jp/2007/GNR_special/index.html)

-------------------------------------
Guns N' Roses have announced that they are postponing the start of their world tour which was due to start in Japan. The Japanese concerts are being rescheduled. Guns N' Roses will be able to make their two scheduled performances headlining the MyCoke festivals in South Africa at the end of the month.
"I feel so bad right now,? explains bassist Tommy Stinson. ?I accidentally fell down a flight of stairs. I put my hand down to break my fall and heard a loud ?pop.' The next morning my hand looked like a balloon. I went to see my doctor and while the good news is that it?s not broken, the bad is news is it?s severely sprained and I may have done some ligament damage. We had our last rehearsal a few days ago and shipped the gear to Japan and then this happened. I feel horrible."I'd like to apologize to our Japanese fans that were looking forwardto seeing us and know that we will we see you all soon. Again, we'd like to sincerely thank our fans worldwide for their patienceand support."

In a Bach's show in Tokyo, I heard that he said he would come back with Axl in September Shocked

Further postpone?

Update: At the following day's show in Tokyo, I heard that Bach corrected his mistake and said July this time. Cheesy

Tickets are 'officially' sold out, however Y12,000 tickets are actually still available.  Huh

http://ap0.pia.co.jp/pia/et/onsale/ons_perform_list_et.jsp;jsessionid=0000Z5x0N9JMXJm7Q0flQIRLNMf:10pc4gf3u?ons_search_mode=ON&ONS_COL_SHEET_NO=195497&P_CODE=254218

I just hope that Axl would be OK with it....  Less audience does not necessarily mean bad audience, I think.

Hi all, just joined the board after being a reader since the very early days back in 96. Anyway, I'm going to this show and I didn't see it confirmed that anyone was providing any updates, so if anyone would like me to just let me know who to mail em to.

And there's an Irish pub called "Always" on the 5th floor of the building just to the left of the station, so if anyone else is around I'll be in there from about 1 with some other people.

Please be careful when you come to the 14 July show and especially to the 15 July show.

http://www.jma.go.jp/en/typh/

A very large and strong typhoon is around Okinawa now and is likely to come around Tokyo on 15 July.
If it really hits Tokyo, you will not be able to go out (seriously it is really dangerous.) So please carefully check the weather forecast before you go out.

Another bad news is Keiyo line which you need to take to go to Makuhari from Tokyo is very easy to get affected by strong wind and rain.? You may be able to find some information in the below URL in such case.

http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/index.html

Lastly, in the worst case, the show itself may be cancelled. In that case I just hope that cancellation will be announced by the organizer in the early stage before everybody tries to reach Makuhari somehow.

I don't know what the show start times on the tickets are BUT I think the "afternoon-ish" starting time is for those of us watching the update thread from the other side of the planet.? ?Japan time is 13 hours ahead of here (nyc) so if the show starts around the time it usually does 11:30pm to midnight in Japan, it'll be 10:30am to 11am in the late morning (afternoon-ish) here.

Edited to correct the time difference

You can check out what time it is in Japan here:

Japanese shows start ealy compared to the rest of the world.

Headlining acts who play in the later afternoonearly evening is normal here.

Yeah, adding to what Jarmo said, Guns were done and dusted by 10 30 (pm not am!) when they last played here in 2002 at Summer Sonic so the Japan gigs could be ridiculously early compared to ones in other countries.
I think tomorrow's gig should be ok cos the typhoon's supposed to hit Tokyo around noon on Sunday, so the 15th might be at risk, but tomorrow should just be another rainy and humid summer day here.
