I thought the same.
Man if they want to combine robots that really look like Transformers and besides have a realistic transformation concept, why not base it on an advanced design of the Alternators line?
Man, the point when I was really shocked was when I saw Starscream. He's such a cool character, and now he looks like a fuckin' robot-chicken.
The only Transformer that looks "decent" IMO is Optimus Prime.

Has anyone listened to the new transformers theme song I posted? Or did your ears start bleeding and you had to go to the hospital instead of being able to type your opinion?

I don't think that's the theme, probably just an "end credits" abortion to get some crappy band on the OST.

"...except Optimus and Megatron are now brothers"
I didn't know that (thanks for the spoiler jerky!!!!?
? )
but now that i do....oh my god, please tell me you're kidding.? is bumblebee optimus' son too??? sigh.
Nope, Prime and Optimus are brothers who ruled Cybertron together untill Megatron decided he'd rather have power for himself and went hunting for ''the Allspark'' - during the hunt he......crashed....and froze in the Arctic. Damn that really does suck!
Quite how two robots are brothers....or how an Autobot and Decpticon can be brothers...just makes ya wonder.....
Bumblebee is mute cos Megatron ripped out his....throat?....he now communicates by playing god awful songs through his....car stereo?
Yey gods, ya cant even make this work as a joke....what were the writers thinking?

Izzy, listen to the theme song i posted and tell me if you like it.? ?
i think i'll pass - obviously it will be awful, as will the plot and acting in the film....but all i really care about is giant robots fighting, I'll sleep or eat popcorn or pick fights with the person sitting next to me during the ''talking'' scenes.
...just watch that 10 second clip of Bonecrusher hurling himself at Prime....damn, thats what i'm talking about!! (so what if Bonecrusher was a Constructicon in the show - damn u Bay!)

LOL omg Izzy we agree on something!!!
i'm not gonna be paying attention to the acting/plot that much either, i mean what do u expect, Michael Bay of all people is directing.
what i am looking forward to is the robot fighting as well, i want some badass action scenes. i used to love transformers as a kid.
it should be a fun movie.

I'd rather watch a pair of Rock 'Em, Sock 'Em robots go at it than watch this CGI crapfest. I hope this movie flops harder than than a fish out of water. Michael Bay still shouldn't be allowed to make movies after that monstrosity that was Pearl Harbor.

Indeed, all the reports leaking out suggest this film has more action than any comparable blockbuster to date - it should be a CGI masterpiece

no one is saying the effects aren't going to be awesome. but theres no good reason for why the story is going to have to suck balls. i find it ironic that the guy who cries over every movie he sees b/c its not "bold" enough or the plot was boring or the story wasn't good etc.... is only looking forward to cgi effects and giant robot fights.

I've read if you dont' care about plot/story at all and only want to see giant CGI robots in cool action scenes then you will LOVE this movie.
i'll probably like it, but never have a strong desire to ever watch it repeatedly

i think this will be an awsome movie. the "new look" of the robots is actually starting to grow on me.
The radio DJ on my local classic rock station said that the decepticons actually eat people

I went to see this last night and I thought it was fucking great. It obviously wasn't meant to be taken too seriously, but for a movie based off cartoon robot cars and trucks fighting eachother, they couldn't have done it any better. And the action scenes were simply amazing!
I loved the cartoon when I was younger and I thought they made good reference to the cartoons too, just with some of the humour of the autobots characters. The movie had quite a few funny scenes and some sad scenes where you really feel for the Autobots characters.
All in all, very well made, and very enjoyable.
Easily the best movie I've seen this year. Highly recommended.
