Ferris Bueller to take another day off?I love Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and it seems there might be a sequel in the pipeline. A script has been written by Rick Rapier, a relatively unknown scriptwriter, and has been read by a few studio executives. All the characters from the original appear in the script entitled Ferris Bueller 2: Another Day Off.

It catches up with Ferris on his 40th birthday, he is now a famous self help guru thanks to his "Life moves pretty fast" mantra. However he decides to take the day off on his birthday which causes a few problems, especially for Cameron who is now his business manager. Stuck in the 80's has news from the script of where the other characters are as well:

Ferris' sister Jeannie (Jennifer Grey) is married to the boy she met in the police station (Charlie Sheen). No longer a school administrator, Rooney is still stalking Ferris for revenge. The economics teacher played by Ben Stein now is an airline gate representative. Ferris' girlfriend Sloane Peterson (Mia Sara) is a Hollywood star going through a rough marriage.
I think I'd only be interested in a Ferris sequel if the whole gang were back, especially Matthew Broderick and John Hughes. But then maybe part of the Ferris appeal is that skipping school was always a difficult thing to get away with. Skipping work is way easier....Not that I've done it...honest.

eh, i have mixed feelings about this. it would be awesome to see Ferris again and even cooler if the original cast came back... but it just doesn't feel right cuz the first movie is classic and even if this sequel is good it will pale in comparison to the first.....

there have been cases when the sequels are better than the original (terminator/t:2), (Alien, Aliens) but that rarely happens lol.

some movies need to just be left alone.

It's not like most of the cast has anything better to do.

Jennifer Grey doesn't look anything like herself after her nose job.

Mia Sara aka Sloane Peterson (Who I was completely in love with when this thing came out) didn't age all that well.

Jeffrey Jones is now a registered sex offender living in Florida (No wonder he wanted to catch Ferris so badly.)

Anyways...I can't imagine them all back together for this.

Yeah what's the deal with Ed Rooney?  Wasn't he busted trying to score some underage ass?  Maybe they could make him a Senator in the sequel? ZIIIIIIIIIIING!  peace

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

The original was on a few times over tis past week end.
Jeffrey Jones was the News & pressman on the HBO series Deadwood I think.  HBO stopped making the show although award winning and popular it was costly.  It is available on DVD's now so they can make more money off it.  There may be a mini-series made from time to time according to cast members.

I would be willing to bet money this never happens . More then likely they will just do a remake thing.
