New Eddie interview in May's issue of Esquire -

http://legacy.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=172638

Read on another board that in this interview Ed mentions he had to have cancer removed twice from his mouth in 2011. I am so hoping this is not their last tour. Saw them in Orlando on Thursday night and it was a phenomenal show.

Saw them in Orlando in April, trying to see if I can pull off going to another show in August. f you have the opportunity,  I highly recommend catching a show on this tour. Ed is just amazing, on top of his game.

I'd love to see them again, but unfortunately the tickets are outrageously priced IMO.  Cheapest seats are like $130 at Mohegan Sun.  I don't want to see them THAT much.

Wow, that is pricey. Nosebleed seats for Orlando were going for $30 week of the show.

I paid the $150 for 17th row on the floor. Worth it.

Yeah, unfortunately most major acts play the Mohegan Sun Arena when they hit CT.  And it's always higher priced than other venues in CT.  I guess since it's a casino, they figure you have money to throw away.  It is a good venue for a show, but the high prices annoy me, and in this case, prevent me from going.

Van Halen Postpone Summer Tour Dates

All shows after June 26th pulled from band's website

May 17, 2012 4:45 PM ET

Van Halen have abruptly postponed all tour dates after their June 26th show in New Orleans with no explanation.

The band yanked more than 30 long-planned dates, including shows in Milwaukee, Detroit, Cleveland, Salt Lake City and El Paso. Local promoters United Concerts and AEG issued statements regarding some postponed shows to local media, including the Salt Lake Tribune and Las Cruces Sun-News, but no details have been offered yet about rescheduled dates or refunds.

Nearly all of the tour is promoted by Live Nation, whose reps wouldn't comment. The band's rep also had no comment. A source with knowledge of the tour tells Rolling Stone that Van Halen's members "hate each other." Adds the source, "The band is arguing like mad. They are fighting."

News of the postponed tour dates surprised several arena reps, who are featuring upcoming Van Halen shows prominently on their websites. "You want to know the absolute fuckin' truth? I have no fuckin' idea," another concert-business source with knowledge of the tour tells Rolling Stone.

"It's selling pretty good ? I don't know why they would say it's being canceled," says a source at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, where the band was supposed to perform on July 7th.

Several of the non-canceled dates have nearly sold out, including this Saturday's show in Minneapolis and June 20th in Dallas. "We're selling really well," says Jack Larson, vice president and general manager of the Xcel Energy Center. "We're looking forward to it."

After decades of touring with Sammy Hagar (and, for a brief period in the late 1990s, Gary Cherone), Van Halen reunited with David Lee Roth for a 2007 tour and hit the road again with him in February. The band released its first new album with Roth, "A Different Kind of Truth," earlier that month. It sold 187,000 copies in its debut week and hit Number Two.

Maybe nothing to worry about..............

Van Halen
We're Just Burned Ou
t

Even rockstars can get tired ... and TMZ has learned that's exactly why Van Halen decided to postpone 31 upcoming concert dates.

Sources close to the band tell us ... the guys felt like the current schedule was "too much, too fast" ... and they were "losing their focus."

One source tells us, "They're simply burned out" ... adding, "They want to make sure their concerts are not a routine ... they want every performance to be special."

We're told the guys want to take some time to "re-charge their engines" ... so they can rock all 31 cities the way Van Halen fans expect to be rocked.

As for rumors that Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth are feuding ... we're told "It's total B.S."

The whole fight thing was B.S. from the start, because the dates were not cancelled, but postponed.

Not only that, Dave sold his soul when he got back to those liars who used him like a disposable tool in 1996 when they lied to him about the reunion and appeared at the VMAs with him and at the same time were rehearsing with Gary.

Dave will do anything now to remain in good terms with the crooks and remain at the spotlight  Sad

Not true, Dave badmouthed them after 1996 also-even during the 2002 tour with Sammy-they had no lead singer at the time, he was still talking bad about the brothers.

To be honest, this was a matter of contention over the years, up until recently when Gary gave the following interview to Rolling Stone:

Q: I've heard that this happened before they appeared with David Lee Roth at the MTV Video Music Awards that year.

A: Oh yeah, yeah. That is true. The commercial I saw was just coincidental. I didn't know what was going on with that. But when I came down they were putting out a greatest hits things and doing the VMAs. I remember one morning getting up to go to the studio and no one told me all this press was interviewing the Van Halen guys because of the VMAs and all this stuff. They told me, "Gary, no one knows you're in the band." I remember bumping into a photographer from Japan and he knew me from Extreme. He goes, "What are you doing here?" I go, "Nothing."

Q: Wait . . . they ask you to join the band, and they go do the VMAs with David Lee Roth? Did you worry that you were already out and Dave was back?

A: No. Maybe Dave thought that, but . . . and maybe he didn't. I don't know. Me and Eddie were writing at the time. I remember him calling me that night saying that he got into a fight with the press or something. He was very protective. I didn't feel threatened. But the three years I was in the band, every day I woke up not knowing what the day was going to bring. Sometimes it was great, other times it was a little dysfunctional ? especially at the end. But as far as how those guys treated me, they treated me like brothers.

Oh, I have no doubt the brothers probably lied to him-that whole thing in 1996 was a mess, and the band never really recovered from it.

Van Halen Rumored For Super Bowl

06/26/2012
.
(hennemusic) There's a buzz in the sports community that Van Halen could be on tap to play Super Bowl 47 next year in New Orleans.

NBC Sports first speculated on the band's involvement a few weeks ago following comments made by Eddie Van Halen regarding the group's touring plans.

On the heels of canceling a full run of summer US tour dates, Eddie told USA Today that "a lot of the canceled dates were in cities we already played. So in November we'll hit Japan, and in the new year we'll possibly do something special, but I can't talk about it."

On Monday, NBC Sports made more references to Van Halen's involvement in the 2013 event.
