TOMMY LEE Vs. KID ROCK: An Eyewitness Account - Sep. 10, 2007
The Associated Press is reporting that Kid Rock and Tommy Lee tussled in the audience at the "MTV Video Music Awards" on Sunday night. MTV VJ Sway said during the post-show that he saw Kid Rock walk up to the M?TLEY CR?E drummer, who was sitting next to Diddy, and "deck him." The incident was confirmed by Palms Hotel and Casino public relations representative Larry Fink. Both Lee and Kid Rock are ex-husbands of Pamela Anderson, who was a presenter at the show and delivered her lines from atop a table in the audience. Although it wasn't clear whether the two rockers were fighting over something related to Anderson, it was hard to imagine another scenario.

Another eyewitness, rap producer Rich Nice, said although Kid Rock threw the only blows that landed ? a backhand slap and a punch ? Tommy Lee was the instigator.

"It looked like Tommy Lee initiated it because Kid Rock was ignoring him," said Nice, who was two tables away. "And Tommy Lee kind of antagonized him. And then when Tommy Lee stood up, it looked a little weird, like 'Yo, what?'"

"When Tommy stands up is when Kid hit him the first time with a backhand," Nice continued. "And then Tommy Lee looked like he was trying to get at him to aggressively retaliate and then Kid Rock hits Tommy Lee again ? bong. And then security grabs Tommy Lee in a headlock and pulls him off."

It's notable that security guards let Kid Rock stay for the rest of the show while Lee was dragged out.

Yeah...kick out the only real rocker there.? More room for emo!? Way to go, MTV!

Real rocker? Ok then, I guess Kid Rock doesn't rap either

They have sucked for years. I don't see how they think they can keep the "V" in their name anymore, it's ridiculous.

Edit: I just watched the Britney opening act. I figured I'd give her a fair shake at it, since the reviews had been pretty bad. Honestly, she seemed as if she didn't even want to be there, completely detached. She moved so slow, it was bizarre. I feel sorry for her, and hope she does not go the way of Anna Nichole Smith.?
I heard someone say that I think TMZ.com reported that Britney gave that lackluster performance in protest after she heard the jokes Sarah Silverman made about her.  She didn't even want to go on but she was contracted to do so, so she just went through the motions.  Not a very smart move on her part.  She has gone downhill quite rapidly over the years.

it could happen but Tommy would more then likely get his ass handed to him in that one. But hell hopefully they would both just beat the hell out of each other so bad we wouldn't have to see either for a long time.

Oh yeah the real rocker who thinks DJing clubs is more important to him than rock n roll. Tommy Lee would have gotten his ass kicked. Kid hit him twice and that ain't the first time Tommy got hit for running his mouth about Kid.

Britney Spears' performance at the MTV VMAs has been removed from MTV repeats and online.

According to the MTV website, the station was "forced" to remove the troubled singer's Sunday night performance at the 2007 VMAs from repeat broadcasts and it has "been pulled indefinitely from all MTV properties worldwide until further notice." No further explanation us offered.

Spears' expected "come back" appearance has been the subject of much discussion and negative reaction. She stumbled through the show, appearing disoriented and many have speculated that she was drunk and that her career will not recover.

 hihi

Edit - I haven't been able to find this on Youtube, anyone have a link?

Her performance was horrible, Kind of tasteless and low class though for MTV to let Sarah Silverman come out and do that bullshit about her. U dont make fun of someone 's kids, that shit aint funny. I thought that was very low class.

Kid Rock is a fat alcoholic weak little dude. Tommy Lee is an insane toned, Tall strong ass drummer. No way Kid Rock could win that fight.

Tommy got suckerpunched and when he tried to retaliate security grabbed him.

Thats hardly getting beat up.

how did she hear the joke? I thought Silverman came on after the performance?

someone at TMZ needs to take the lack of time travel into consideration.

I thought so too, but from the report I heard they made it sound like she came on AFTER Silverman made her, what some deemed, tasteless jabs at her.  I didn't catch her performance live so I don't know for sure if it happened before or after Silverman was on.

It was after Britney when She came out but it was fuckin horrible taste.

Kanye West was right, they basically tried to exploit Britney for ratings *surprise, surprise* and it worked, 23 percent up from last year.

Ah, then I guess that story/theory doesn't make much sense.
