After debuting at No. 1 last week, Kanye West's Def Jam album "Graduation" falls to No. 2 with 226,000, a sales slide of 76%. 50 Cent's "Curtis" does nearly the same, slipping 2-3 with 143,000 (-79%).

Ouch!
And Kanye's second week still almost or does outsell Libertad's total sales.

i don't see how its bad that he sold 200,000 in his second week.  i mean he did sell 950,000 in the first week, so he's already platinum in two weeks.  I'm not sure if any bands sold that many in two weeks this year

its not an "ouch" at all

Yes it is, 76% is a huge sales loss. Platinum is nothing today. My guess is this album will sell between 2 and 3 million which is nothing special.

This is 2007... I think it's possible that this is the biggest selling CD of the year already after two weeks.

Platinum is nothing today?  I bet you can count the number of platinum selling artsts in the past year on your fingers...  A few years back 4 to 5 million copies of Mariah Carey's album made it the biggest selling album of the year... in 2007, the title should be Kanye's.  I agree with the other poster, no 'ouch' at all.

he almost went platinum in a week.  most of the top albums this year haven't been selling close to that AT ALL.
