Bruce Willis had a minor role in Charlie's Angels 2: Full Throttle. His character was named William Rose Bailey... Wink

And for more GnR-influence on The Simpsons, do a search for them at snpp.com

Seeing as this thread popped up again, people in the UK look out for the Pimms (sp?) advert on tv. The well known comedian is wearing a white GNR t-shirt like Garths in Wayne's World (another movie spot).

In the movie "Out Of Time" the medical examiner wears a hat that says Slash on it. Great movie by the way.

There was also another Saved By The Bell episode where Zakk mentions Axl by name.  Also King of Queens had an Axl inspired joke once.

A movie that came out in 89-90 called Ford Fairlane-Rock n' Roll Detective. Very funny movie with Dick Clay(?) in it. A scene near the start, a women mentions a Guns n' Roses video rap (up) party.
N' near the end another women says if Axl Rose would be reincarnated, would it be a black women or...........(cant remember)
Anyone ever seen this?

I saw a movie on tv the other night, it had Jim Carrey in it, it may have been 'Fright Night', I'm not sure, but he gets out of bed and lip-synchs all of 'Jungle', dancing around and shit.

Yeah, Andrew Dice Clay plays Ford Fairlane.

Vince Neil is the rockstar that dies in it.

That was The Dead Pool.

See Jane Date had a GN'R mention.

In Living Color once showed a doctored photo of Axl standing side-by-side with David Duke.

i just saw that crappy movie anaconda on tv,

and owen wilson's character says an indirect GNR quote. Its when he has been convinced by John Voight to try and catch the snake and they tell the others what they're gonna do. He says:

"Look around you, do you know where you are? welcome to the jungle...........you can die out here"

i wonder if it was deliberate.

Duff McWhalen
Grizzly Slash
Dark Dizzy
Izzy Glow
Squid Adler
Mattrex
The Skiver Named after Micheal Monroe

Also in MMX7 One of the characters is named Axl! He has sort of long hair thats red and he uses guns as weapons.

Full House: Jesse Is talking about how he doesn't want to go to something and his wife Becky Says: "Well Guns N' Roses never won the Kentucky Derby." Can you imagaine that!? rofl

Monster Garage: The make fun of some guy on a boat and call him Axl Rose!

This isn't movies/tv, but i'm gonna mention it anyways.
I went to the projekt revolution tour on september 5th, and during the band The Used, the lead singer was like "whos ready to see snoop? *cheers* whose ready to see korn? *cheers* Whos ready to see LP? *cheers* Whos ready to see guns n fuckn roses!" and the crowd just exploded. then he was like "well, sorry about that, I guess I'm either on the wrong tour or axl didn't show."
And then later in the night during the band linkin park, during a break, the guitarist played the opening to SCOM and stopped and the singer was like "if you start playing GNR, you better fucking finish it" and he started singing along, and the crowd sang along more for SCOM than they did for the entire linkin park set.

I've been hearing a bit of GnR on Fox lately.  They're using the GnR version of Live and Let Die during some of the "Rebel Billionaire" promos.  In addition, they've been using some GnR (I've heard Welcome to the Jungle and Paradise City) during some of the MLB playoff games...during the "game moment" interstititals leading into and out of commercials.

« Reply #75 on: December 21, 2004, 06:58:51 AM »

Just watching D2: The Might Ducks Embarrassed, one of the Hockey players is wearing a UYI T-Shirt with UYI1 on the front and UYI2 on the back, just another nice film reference to add to the ever increasing list.  As for TV i think every now knows the GTA San Andreas advert with Welcome To The Jungle playing, now it's Christmas it seems to be getting played more and more.  Now this one is a long shot but, Johnny Depp starred in the Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers video Into the Great Wide Open playing a rocker along with Faye Dunaway, now that same year he starred in a film with Faye Dunaway playing a character called Axel Blackmar, probably not much of a connection there but i thought it was worth a shot.
